I have the right to move in public space without offence, I find naked people offensive. Example.
I think people should wear clothes. Maybe it's just me.
Surely common sense should prevail here. How else are we meant to deal with it without laws? I don't want wierdos walking around my town naked, no matter how good looking they are. It's not something you would expect to see in 2013. You can over analyze it all you want. No I am not offended by nakedness in public, but I would generally question the sanity of anyone that does it, and because of this it presents a perceived threat, a danger if you will, to all those that witness it. And no I do not care to experience this if I can avoid it.

Simply put and to the point. I would agree. It seems fashionable to question every law these days in an effort for "freedom" and "rights".

So, this guy has been jailed for refusing to cover up contrary to an ASBO. While I agree that the courts need to enforce their rulings I can't help but feel it's pointless to have started this vendetta .
I understand that some people may not want to see someone naked, but this isn't the 1950s sexually oppressed America. Some people say "oh but think of the children!" to which I would say "So what?". As long as it's not sexualised, seeing someone naked isn't depriving a child of their innocence, neither is is alarming.
You see women in bikinis on the beach which to be honest is only a small step away from total nudity, yet that is perfectly acceptable. The same goes for men with obese stomachs overflowing their speedos. That's just as off putting as seeing a random guy naked, but you know, I just get on with my life.
I understand some people may not like to see it, but should it really be criminalised? Can't people just ignore it?
Is your right not to be offended greater than his right to choose not to wear clothes?

Is this actually a right though? (serious question) or is it just something people feel like they're entitled to.
If it is a right, I'd have a field day with religious nuts shouting at people in the street that they're morally in-superior or that they're going to hell if they don't 'let jesus in'. I find that offensive (and if nothing else, a breach of the peace, frankly).
I guess my point is, offending someone isn't that big a deal, really. People can take being offended. His nakedness isn't being directed at anyone - he's not being abusive.
I find, smelly, ugly and high pitched camp people offensive can we jail all of them too?
Is walking through a society naked a right?
(Setting aside the fact it is against the law)
REALLY???
you feel threatened by a naked person? no offense but a naked person is pretty much the least threatening type of person as they have no where to hide anything (well maybe a dagger but unsheathing that would be a gymnastic nightmare).

This is gold. It says an awful lot about your views on life and society.
I understand that the gent in question could be seen as stubborn and eccentric, but being jailed over and over again? It's almost beyond belief that this can happen. I think he's proving a point, and a very valid one at that.
Compare this to naked woman on freeview, where anyone -even a child- can turn on the TV at the wrong time of night and see naked over sexualised woman jiggling about. The channels have changed a bit, but I remember when those channles were litrally next door to the kiddy channles on TV... I hate to think how many kids woke up at 3 am, went downstairs to flick kiddy tv on, presses the up button and saw sexualised nakedness broadcast into their lounge.
Compare to sexualised advertising that anyone can see walking down the street , etc etc etc.
It's nice to hear a policeman not agreeing with the law, I'm sure many police people don't agree with some laws. But it saddens me too. It reminds me that people have jobs where they have to follow orders or face thier own consequences from the powers that be. Which seems pretty inhumane?
I'm not very good at explaining things hopefully you get the drift.
