Help me stop the obscenities.

Just a thought ....

Why not go for the CeleronG530 as the cpu (saves £54) and up the board to an Asus P8Z77 -V LX (£28 more).

Gives your lad something to save for - i2500k/i3570k - if he wants more performance and the board is the most recent.

(and the £25 saved could mean an improvement to a 7870 gpu?)

I think... No... ;)

Hit our first problem, everything installed correctly but stuck in restart loop.

Boots to Touch bios screen, then after approx 10 seconds turns itself off and then restarts but with no signal to monitor.

I have taken everything out and re installed, but to no avail.

Checked out Gigabytes site and they say the mobo supports the i5 3570.

Starting to wonder though, as I've been reading lots of posts about the boot loop problem.

The mobo is the rev 2.0 version.

Edit.

Mouse seems to work, but keyboard doesn't.

How do I go about that if I can't get in to the bios???

Sorry, bit of a novice at all of this. I've only built one system and that was years ago, the old grey matter is a bit sparse nowadays.

The motherboard might need a BIOS flash to support Ivy CPUs.

Edit.

Phoned Overclockers this morning and raised an RMA. BIOS needs updating, even though the Gigabyte web site claims that this board supports the Ivybridge i5-3570!!!!

A quick update.

BIOS updated on the Motherboard in double quick time. PC now up and running.

A big thank you to Overclockers UK techs.

Oh and btw, thanks for the Haribo Fangtastics. ;)

I would also like to thank everyone on the forum for their help as well. :)

Next job, an upgrade for my Flightsim rig. :)

Pics would be great, and ah that bag of haribo that just sweetens the deal (pun intended).

Did love the spec of the leather belt though realized it had be rigged as coudln't find it on the OCUK shop :P.

Pics, pics, pics! :D

Great to hear its up and running, you'll be able to sleep tonight ;)

Or not due to the *Clack of keys while the kid is hammering at the keyboard playing League of Legends.

He won't let me near his precious at the moment. ;)

I think I've caught the bug now....... damn. ;)

Think I might have a couple of Jars to celebrate. ;)

That wouldn't be the building computer bug would it? Don't worry we have all been bitten on here. Just wait till you get to watercooling or custom sleeving cables.

Once you've sat for 12 hours cutting, snipping, crimping and treading cables through paracord for every cable on your power supply you've reached it. Complete PC building bliss.
