So I put my new PC together the other day. Quick check on temps in BIOS before installing Windows and the temp was 60C.
So I decided to reseat the heatsink, but upon taking it off some thermal paste drips onto the motherboard chipset heatsink (easily cleaned off) and onto a RAM slot.
I managed to clean most of it out of the RAM slot, but there is still a small tiny (and I mean tiny) bit still in there. I have the PC up and running now, and it seems to be working fine. I'm just worried this may lead to future problems with the motherboard?
The thermal paste is AC MX-2 which is non-conductive from what I've read.
Oh and the reason for the high temp in the first place... I forgot to take the plastic cover off the bottom of the heatsink
So will it be OK with how it is now or should I think about returning the motherboard (still within the return period)?
Thanks.
