Thermal Paste in RAM slot

So I put my new PC together the other day. Quick check on temps in BIOS before installing Windows and the temp was 60C.

So I decided to reseat the heatsink, but upon taking it off some thermal paste drips onto the motherboard chipset heatsink (easily cleaned off) and onto a RAM slot.

I managed to clean most of it out of the RAM slot, but there is still a small tiny (and I mean tiny) bit still in there. I have the PC up and running now, and it seems to be working fine. I'm just worried this may lead to future problems with the motherboard?

The thermal paste is AC MX-2 which is non-conductive from what I've read.

Oh and the reason for the high temp in the first place... I forgot to take the plastic cover off the bottom of the heatsink

So will it be OK with how it is now or should I think about returning the motherboard (still within the return period)?

Thanks.

some alcohol based thermal paste cleaner, and a cotton bud then leave it a good 1-2 hours for it to evaporate

Already tried using a cotton bud and alcohol based thermal paste remover. It's to small and in to deep for the cotton bud to reach though.

You may have to try something thinner then - creditcard wrapped in tissue maybe? Shouldn't cause any problems as long as you get any of it off the contacts. If it's not electrically conductive then you should be OK as long as it's not blocking the connection with any RAM.

It doesn't seem to be causing any problems with connection to the RAM. I'm thinking that since it seems to work OK, the little bit of thermal paste in there isn't touching the contacts.

I might just leave it as is for and hope for the best...
