Finally decided on a new bike, Transition Bandit frame ordered :)

Should be here next week. Now need to order a box full of components and learn how to put it all together ... headset is being installed for me, the rest can't be too hard, can it?

Good to hear :)

What's all this BB facing malarkey? I've heard that it's not really necessary!?

A new frame shouldn't need facing.

Also, Mech fitted and running smoothly - chain slap free!

BB facing is the use of a tool to ensure that the mating surfaces of each side of the BB are clean, devoid of paint and parallel to each other. As mentioned with manufacturing quality of new bikes being so good it shouldn't be needed.

Bought everything to convert to 1x10 only thing im unsure on is whether to go 32 or 34 front ring with the 11-36 cassette out back?

Im not the fittest guy in the world and currently run 24/36 rings with 11-34 cassette and never use the 24 ring.

Am i best 32 or 34 ?....Ive noticed some of the top guides im looking at only support upto 32 rings

What kind of stuff are you riding? I have 34t with 36-12t on the rear, does pretty much everything, climbs well and descends fine, I'm after a 36-11t for the alps and 36t chainring there where speed is more important.

Very excited, making a return to the fold, spent the last 7 weeks down in Wiltshire riding all over the plain, really caught the riding bug again, on returning to Leeds last weekend I took a trip to gisburn forests, gave the 8 trail a bash on my frankinbike, I had the time of my life despite getting a puncture 2 miles in then having to walk back to the car park, bomb burst to settle to find a bike shop that was open, then head back to the trail because I stupidly forgot to pack my puncture repair kit, also managed to completely kill my old 06 boxxers, but it was worth it, I thoroughly enjoyed gisburn.
Fast forward 1 week
My bonus just came in so thought I would treat myself to a new bike, a DH bike, now its not finished yet still waiting for a number of parts, but the main build will be.
Frame - nukeproof scalp 2012 small
Fork - 2010 Boxxer RC
Wheels - front mavic ex832 on bigun, rear mavic ex832 on hope pro evo 2 hub(being built I collect wed)
Brakes - hayes mx4 mech discs with 203mm discs ( will be the first upgrade next month)
Shimano zee chainset with an e thirteen chain device
Hope finishing kit (bb, headset, seatclamp)
Easton ea70 bars

Should have all the parts by wed, build at the weekend, cant wait!
Wait out for photos!

32 without a doubt. I got 1x10 34 up front and on some climbs i wish i went fod the 32, dont think ive ever used the hardest geat :-(

Hmm ive just bought the 34, Ill have to see how i get on if not ill swap it for a 32.

Looking to swap the cables for XTR. I can only find kits at £30+ i only need about 1.5m worth.

Ive seen on ebay i can buy, by the metre SP41 outers but cant seem to find the inner cable, Shimano SS PTFE. Does anyone know if the inners available by the metre? rather than buying the full kit.

Apart from the dodgy as hell decision on the handlebars (9 sweep 5 bend is great, but those are by far not wide enough.... please change to good DH handlebars, please ) that looks like a wicked build. ( I'm assuming you mean mavic 823)
