hi
ive got a blackberry 9320 and been looking at buying a nice new phone .
althought the blackberry does everything i use it for ive been looking at getting somthing abit differant with some good apps :D

so far ive been looking at a -
Nokia Lumia 620 - but not sure about the windows 8 bit??
LG Optimus L5 II
HTC Desire X
or maybe a samsung phone?

like the idea of having a android phone as ive got a ipad and im impressed with the apps etc on it .
any advice welcomed :)

If you've been using a blackberry, was that because you've needed something with decent typing and business functionality? Basically, what do you want to use the phone for?

Also depends on budget and when you want to buy.

no not really. just because i really like the blackberry phones as they are easy for me to use-
as long as the phone can take some photos and i can text\ call \ and use the online browser easy i will be happy
if there are cheaper phones i will be open to suggestions.
the other half has a HTC Desire C and i find it a nice phone to use

from "Blackberry to a smartphone?" Pretty sure most Blackberries are smartphones too... I hate that buzzword.

Photography was mentioned in this thread and I believe that iPhone cameras are amongst the best like with Nokia's. Remember though, it's not about the megapixels. It's sensor size you're after.

For a screen that is easiest to read in glaring sunlight, then I think Samsung Galaxy S series have the brightest and most contrasted screens.

Would you still prefer a physical keyboard? Cos I don't think there aren't many current phone models with one, and any that does will be low-end.

You said you like the idea of having Android because you've got an iPad already and you're impressed with the apps on the iPad. Best to stick with one operating system mate.

my wife has the same predicament. she wants a new blackberry but the new Q10 is way too expensive. shame, she'd love another blackberry.
I have a Windows Phone. I've told her to buy either an IPhone 5 (as she has a ipad) or a Windows Lumia. The windows phones (the 620) have the very best software - windows 8.
I'd go for the Nokia Lumia 620 - its a quality phone, with the best software & at around 150 quid if bought out right - you really cant go wrong.
