Indian Rupee Slump....(currency exchange question)

Using a credit card for cash withdrawals or payment in India is asking for fraud. Never ever use a card in India whether a debit or credit. Credit card fraud in India is at an alarming rate

Ironically a lot of places wont accept foreign debit/credit cards for fear of you frauding them.

Guess i'll just have to hope the rate stays high till November then when I go over!

Why bother, it's not like your cash will get you very far :D
Taj Mahal entrance fee for an Indian national = R50
Taj Mahal entrance fee for you = R1000

etc..

Ooo November! Maybe our paths will cross :)

You'll get bit less than XE rate at Thomas Cooks, American Express etc in India. Some independent changers will actually offer you MORE than the actual rate. Take £50 notes with you.

I use 'Santander Zero' Card as well they dont charge for ATM's but the Indian Bank may make charge best to check with the Bank first.

ICICI Bank have the exchange rates as 1 GBP to 90.16 INR. Worth considering if you're unable to find any other rates in that region. Can find them online and have them delivered to yourself. They also have banks in the UK and India so you should be able to easily obtain money if necessary abroad by going into one of the Banks. Hope this helps.
