Interesting statistics

According to the World Health Organization, some 56 Million deaths occur per year, at the current global average. That works out to about 153,400 per day, or a little more than 100 per minute. For every death, there are a little over 2.25 births, or a something just over 350,000 per day.

Not enough deaths by far.

Not to belittle the suffering of others druring such events but we could do with a few more earthquakes and tsunamis. A decent spread of H5N1 and a bit more war to bring the population down a bit.

By about half would be a start.

I would presume that there are a fair amount of those deaths that are natural causes.

If the media acknowledged every death, it could cause some problems :)

Indeed we need more deaths. OR less births....

Sad but true fact - The planet can not sustain that kind of birth to death ratio - We already have massive overcrowding in many countries across the globe.

if some of you feel that we have too many people in the world. By all means be my guest ;)

*Disclaimer: i am not endorsing suicide, just joking. If anyone should act on my advice then i hold no blame etc etc...

But that we focus on only some peoples death when so many die each day is a tragedy itself.

Why? If I die today what have I done to deserve the mourning of a population compared to say, a great actor or artist who has created or have been involved in works that effect millions?

People are not equal, I as a person am not equal to Ranulph Fiennes ...at least not yet. Assuming I deserve the same respect as him in life is as arrogant as the same assumption in death.

Living and dying is not a recognizable achievement.
