My Evo 9

Very very nice car Chris. Ant at Indigo is a top guy, he supplied a fair bit of kit for me but I used to go to MG Auto's as it was more convenient for me. Haven't read the whole thread but what mods do you have planned for it?

I sold my 9GT a couple of years back, seriously miss it and wouldn't have any hesitation to buy another if I had the money. It's one of those cars that once you're had one nothing else quite lives up to the Evo's power/performance.

Mine was the first UK 9 to run speed density on ECUflash which took it (with an FP Green + a few other choice mods) to just shy of 450bhp.

Ahh, you're on the MLR, such a good forum - I used to be the Channel Islands Regional Organiser on there, really nice bunch (on the whole) on there.

MLR members used to get an insurance discount with Pace Ward which was pretty good (I used them). Gave them a full spec list of my car (literally every change) and they covered the lot.

Fair few warning lights on there.

There are none, the ABS and engine light have an amber surround which is part of the dash, the actual lights are much brighter. It's a common mistake that people make on the VII - IX. The green light on the right is the AYC setting which is in the top position (tarmac).

I've done a lot of reading about mapping Evo's, most tuners seem to be too hung up about numbers, Ant seems very hooked up about safety, which is fine by me. :)

Current mods are HKS induction and decat, nothing else performance wise. I only got the decat for some more exhaust noise as it was a bit muted at stock (for a HKS system). It already has the HKS downpipe, hard pipes, exhaust etc as standard so it's good for 400bhp now. I don't intend on getting more power, next upgrade will be brake discs and pads as well as suspension.

My EVO X with all mods was 60-100mph in 5.6s on racelogic box, yours is 5.9s on speedo, so probably around 6.5s circa at moment as EVO speedo's are not accurate.

The Mustang was 3.8-4.2s and the 911 is 5.0s-5.4s I think from memory, just need to double check.
I think it would be faster if I rolled from 60 in 4th, one less gear change needed.

Cant remember on my EVO what gave better result. On 911 changing gears gives best result, keeping revs high where power is.

They are damn quick cars when running 350+ which is what matters. :)

Everybody knows Essien Grey VII's = super sexy. First thing I did though was get rid of those nasty silver lights though.

Only £6500 now though? Ouch :(

Lovely car Chris - Ruri Blue is such a lovely colour - Glad you finally took the plunge ;)

How are you finding the transition from Honda/VTEC?

Lovely blacked out lights Gayjin - always wanted to do that on mine but couldn't place what was different about mine as they were certainly not as silver as UK models. I was lucky enough to find some 7 GTA rear light clusters on MLR which are like hens teeth and are well worth grabbing when you can as they are the best from 7-9 clusers IMO.

I my 9... a lot :/

You don't realise how fast these cars are till something like a VXR tries racing you. :D

Bet you made the VXR driver cry. :D

Met up with a mate at Donnington yesterday, he's got an EVO 8 FQ-400, he was after revenge on me as our last outing at Donnington the 911 was quite a bit quicker, though albeit it was dry.

So yesterday was soaking and well we had a great play, check the videos out, in 4 parts in Porsche/Donnington thread. :)

I've have a look tomorrow mate when I get home, if I have time that is as I have to prep for working in London for a few weeks.

I need to get mine on track tbh.
