A good resource is IITC

Using tampermonkey or greasemonnkey for chrome and firefox you can install several mods which greatly improves ingress.com/intel website.

There's also an android app that can do the same things too. Very useful for finding weak portals or maximising AP in your area.

Been on this for a little while always liked the idea of it but my area is dead for portals I was hoping some would come up but guess I'm just going to submit as many as possible and hope some get chosen. Does anyone know what they normally go for or is it anything that stands out in the area?

Theres some portal submission guidelines on site - As long as you abide by them they will take your portal.

Driving through nottingham i managed to hack a few portals and recharge one. Got 2 portal keys!

I'm not 200 miles from nottingham and won't be returning, so what's the best way to make sure of my portal keys..

Submit portals around you area and link them! I have one for somewhere in Lille :)

Linking gives you AP (XP) and you can create fields.
 
Ok just installed this not quite sure what to do. Im enlightenment- cjgardens heywood

Do I have to visit the icons on the map and collect the xm from it? Should be good for me when im back in work and visiting loads of areas

Where do you enter the invite code? Not been asked to enter it?

Got setup and out starting to collect for the Resistance over the weekend - username: its5am - based in Guildford Surrey and Central London

a couple of things i'm a little confused over (but i was slightly drunk when wandering around with it) you seem to be able to switch the map from 'always point north' to 'point the way i'm going' but that doesn't seem to be great on my S4, if anything it rotates more based on the tilt of the device, anyone else have this or is my compass knackered?

Secondly is there anyway to run the app in the background?
 
Mine moves when I tilt the phone. I've got a s2

On the training mission I've planted a portal and then i try to hack it and target it but it doesn't do anything? Am I missing something?

XM is the little white dots on the ground, think of it like MANA. You need XM to fire XMP's and to deploy Ressonators.

If your already playing you wont need to enter the invite code ;) it associates with your google account.

The Compass isnt that great for me, cars and trains seem to knock it off if your driving about, I usually have it "always point north" as you can rotate it the way you want (usual 2 finger poke/swival).

Running in the background? It will only collect XM when its on screen, you can mimimize it but sometimes it will close itself down :(

As I said in the e-mail Silicon, give me a shout on G+ and I can get you intouch with some people in Guildford who will help you level.

Firstly your need to hack a few portals to gain some inventory (Ressonators and XMP's) then you can do the following:

Neutral portal:

1. Select portal - Click Deploy.

Enemy Portals:

1. Destroys the ressonators on the portal by firing XMP's (at low level you will have a hard time doing this, so I recommend you hack and deploy on neutral portals till your level 2/3 or you have a higher level with you).
2. Select portal - Click Deploy.

Short Answer: no

Long Answer: You can but its against the TOS. Also if you were both playing at the same time you would get a lot of "Items not aquired" which is basically a GPS hack proof thing, so if you travel too fast you cant do anything for a certain time.

Also people may report you if they see you attacking one portal in north London then another portal in South london within a few minutes :)

You have to destroy portals and populate them or hack enemy portals.

If there is much stuff to take over, then go out and snap a load of pictures around your town! :)
 
There are two portals, both about a mile away. One i can get to easy and the other one is a roundabout on a massive junction.

Do I have to take pictures of something like a monument? How do I take it to the game?
