Come on Creative man, it's not a criticism of you. In fact people think that it's a terrible thing that it was done to you without your consent. Reflect on this so when you have children you can give them the choice you didn't have.

Religion was a cause, but not directly and not really Judaism.

By far the biggest reason for the establishment of genital mutilation in the USA as a routine custom was the belief that it would prevent masturbation. There was widespread gibbering hysteria about masturbation in the late 19th and early 20th century, only partially stemming from Jewish and Christian beliefs.

Bizarre though it sounds, that genuinely is the reason. It wasn't that long ago, so there is ample extant evidence. It was done here too, but died out when the masturbation hysteria died out. In the USA it became a custom which many people force on their children with absolutely no idea why they're doing it, simply because it's a custom.

It's also far more trivial. If circumcision involved cutting off the underside of the glans, and then sowing your penis to your belly, then you could call it equivalent. But trying to equate the two procedures automatically lessens the idea of FGM. No it's not even slightly surprising for an overwhelmingly male forum, but it's still faintly annoying. It's a slightly more exaggerated version of having someone respond to your "leg blown off by a landmine" with "I once got a splinter in my finger".

Do you really think it's trivial to mutilate the genitals of a baby for no good reason?.

I agree comparatively it's not as extreme, but it's hardly a trivial affair slicing off a part of another humans genitalia without obtaining their consent - it is perfectly equivalent in that sense (but not in others I agree).
 
Did anyone know some rabbis after a male circumcistion (usually a couple of weeks old) while the male is still bleeding put the babies genitals in their mouth till the bleeding stops.

Now to me this is pedophilla.....but is completely legal.

All in the name of god huh ???????????????

Your analogy does ring true in the physical aspect of things, but the principle remains the same, gentian mutilation is gross and barbaric in both sexes.
