How to deal with eBay buyer!

Understand the frustration of the guy, as he probably just assumed it was the same drive without reading the second chance offer. You are partially at fault.

He is however being pretty obnoxious. At this point accept that he will give you negative feedback, because you shouldn't let him blackmail you.

What other accessories were there with the other drive?

Just a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter, which I am sending him.

You've actually misread his response. He says it worked as a USB drive but not in when added as local storage, that's how he knew it had Asus files on it. Subsequently, he flashed it and then wiped it.

What ever you do, don't get angry. Just keep your cool, and, if nothing else, continue to offer a full refund as required until it's resolved

Yes teh guy is acting like an ass however you sent a second chance offer, a second chance to win the item a buyer missed out on and sold him a different drive.

Wether or not he read it doesn't really matter as the eBay email will have said something like "Second Chance item#41654684654 Item Name" as on the auction.

Really shouldn't have sold a different item on the back of another auction tbh its probably against some form of eBay rule at some point

If your ebay rating is that important I'd consider offering him a full refund upon return of the drive, paying the return post and cancel the transaction.

just sounds like he needs a serious kick in the head...

snotty attitudes which stink **** me off, people hide behind pcs nowadays and then talk ****.

No repercussions for his kind of behaviour is the problem and you had to eat it up and be nice whereas irl id just give him a firm slap and tell him to suck it.

rages me.

Where does he live? :)
What an illiterate moron
This chance of retards is why i will never sell again on Ebay.

Think i'd probably just offer to refund the guy £5 to shut him up. It'll probably end up costing you more than that when you refund his postage costs and pay out for postage again when you re-sell it.

If you would send him money then you are part of the problem, it breeds the "kick up a stink and get free money/stuff" attitude that these eBay retards thrive on.

NEVER EVER SEND THEM MONEY, A REFUND WAS OFFERED HE TURNED IT DOWN, SCREW HIM!

If you want to sell on ebay again, send him £15 and move on with your life and forget it ever happened. Hopefully you will attract a more competent buyer next time. .

Under no circumstance offer a partial refund.

The buyer has shot himself in the foot, he is trying to use 'feedback extortion' as a tool to get a partial refund which is against ebay rules...buyers are not allowed to ask for money back when a refund is received.

If he leaves negative feedback there's a good chance his threats of cash for a positive feedback will mean ebay can remove his negative feedback.

I would send him the adaptor and if he leaves negative feedback, forward your whole conversation on to ebay and they will probably remove it. Especially as you have offered a full refund inc return postage.

If he wants his money back he needs to observe the relevant procedures and file a the problem in the resolution centre. You have offered him a refund and he is chancing his arm. Paypal will certainly side with him and he will have to return the drive using a tracked means of postage, before paypal will issue the refund.

I wouldnt waste any more time trying to reason with him, just let him do his 'worst'.

OP why are you registered as a business on eBay with obviously fake company details?

Just to get top rated seller status I assume?

Oh also your returns policy is not legal if you are actually a business.
