Hi

I'm an admin on a facebook page and was wondering if the amount of likes on a post will increase the chances of the post appearing in other peoples wall? I notice sometimes on my personal wall if a post has lots of comments and likes it will stay fairly high up on my feed.

Some insight would be awesome!

Cheers.

Technically yes. If a user likes something, it will usually show up in their friend's news feed. If just one or two people see that and like it, then the same thing happens. Sort of like a pyramid.

Statuses that go into the thousands of likes can come up in your feed as "Trending Topics" without any of your friends liking it/you following them on Facebook.

I think it will usually appear in the box in the top right, rather than the main news feed if someone likes it.

I think 'shares' are more likely to be seen than 'likes' though. I often see things being shared where it's like "share this and you have a chance to win some crap".

While on this subject...

Can anyone tell me what you have to do so that the people that have liked your page see it in their newsfeed more often. Is it still a case of getting people to 'add to interests lists'?

Of course their is the 'boost post' option which is a paid for service but don't want to use that at present.

It is basically boost post. And also, as others have explained, the more people that like it, the more viral views you'll get over organic views.

As far as I am aware, if someone likes your page they will get updates of what you post right to their news feed. So if you posted "now selling cupcakes" it will appear on everyones wall who liked your page, unless they disabled that somehow.

Edit: Sorry, misread :(

My understanding is that you have to get likers to 'add to interests lists' now as Facebook limits who see your posts. Apparently doing this makes your page posts appear in more facebook newsfeeds. I could be wrong as Facebook is always changing things these days :5

Promote 'shares' too

I hope you are however not one of those admins who will post a picture of a cute baby and caption it with 'like = cute, comment = very cute, share = OMG so cute' etc :p
