That would be an awesome first car.
Normally this is the part where I tell you to get something cheap if it is your first car. But I am not going to. Welcome to motors, you will fit right in.
Just please expand on your post on what you want from a car and what you want to know about the BRZ/GT86. What are you daily needs etc...
Edit: Just noticed you are only 21. Have you looked at the insurance on one of these? Going by your age and it being your first car, I could see insurance companies laughing you off the phone or seeing if you are silly enough to pay £3k+ premium. If you have built experience up as a named driver on another policy, you might be ok.
Given the ability to own a 2013 car as a first car, I'd be willing to bet that cost of insurance isn't much of an issue.
It also depends when the OP passed their test. I get reasonable quotes even with 0 no claims at 21, though I've driven for 3 years (held license for 3+ years too). If he's a new driver (in the sense of held license for <1 year) then yes insurance will be silly.
Showing your age there![]()

I would want a GT86 over the brz. Cheaper and more readily available. Plus I prefer the front end.
drove a GT86 and would have one in an instant.
Epic first car if legit.
Welcome to motors
I want to see pics with a loaf of hovis on the bonnet.
Literally passed my test a little over a month ago. And actually my budget is pretty tight at around 23k and this was a car I noticed around that sort of price that had good reviews. (was also told to go japanese) Only problem my local dealership only has the 2012 model right now. I'm admittedly a bit of a newbie to the motoring world but eager to get stuck in! I'm just lucky that my dad is willing to fork out for me.
My main hope is to find a car that looks good and is fun to drive while being reliable. This car seemed to fit that bill. However I'm by no means not interested in your take on other alternatives![]()

Haha thanks! I'll take a look at the GT86.
What's all this about bread? I'm a caeliac!
Interested in this as a first car.
Coeliac? That's fine, use a loaf of Sainsbury's FreeFrom, Genius, or Warburton's Newburn
don't use a loaf of DS, because that would involve buying a loaf of DS and it's pretty rank![]()
