I currently have a 6 month old Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X and im just wondering would it be better to buy another GTX 670 or a GTX 780 , i could sell my current 670 to my brother if a 780 is the better option.

I have been using 2 670's in sli for 4 months now without any major issues. I would not swap them for 1 gtx 780 as my setup is faster than 1 titan where scaling is good. With the recent price drop I would get another in your position. Just my opinion.

yer , i think the smart move would to get another one but the last time i went SLI around 3 years ago i had a lot of issues , i guess thats why ive been put off about it.

3 years is a long time to some when it comes to gpu's lol, a lot has changed. This is my first sli setup and it's been a smooth ride. Only problem is now I never want to go back to using 1 card so even if I went titan, I would want 2 lol.

:D

Agree.

My MSI 770 lightnings SLI work amazingly well. They destroy a single Titan to bits:D

what resolution do you game at?

if 1080, I would just keep the 1 670 at this point, as there is very little it can't cope with and Maxwell next year looks to be a doozy of a card - it will also give you time to see what happens in regards of VRAM requirements and see if the hysteria over consoles having 8GB does actually result in 2GB being an issue

in your position, if I absolutely had to upgrade, I would go 670 SLI

Im running sli 670s under water no problems at easily quicker than a single titan class card.

Question is though do you need it? apart from crysis3 fully maxed at 1080 theres not a game the ive found yet that drops below 60fps although i admit ive not played last light yet.

The whole vram issue is neither here nor there the 670s dont have the core horsepower to worry about hitting the 2gb limit on 2 card sli, if your using more than 2gb then your probably hitting unplayable fps anyway, the titans have 6gb but the cores are by far quicker so they need it. Also dont forget the memory on the new consoles might be branded as GDDR5 its the total system memory its got a lot more to do the just driving the gpu

currently have;
i5 3570k , gtx 670 , 16gb corsair vengeance , 128gb samsung 830 series , corsair h60 , 1tb spinpoint f3, gigabyte z77x-ud3h and storm enforcer case.

Im just getting the urge to buy something , for what i play i wouldn't need a 780 or 670 sli as i only play at 1080.

I've had 680 SLI and 670 SLI, overall for me the single 780 is a quieter and smoother experience and I personaly would not go back. Higher FPS (using multi-GPU) does not always give the best overall result in my experience.

just out of curriosity what 670s were you running, when my dc ii cards were on air they were virtually silent.

Same cards here. I can't hear them over the case fans.

Glad that I haven't suffered from any noticeable sli micro stuttering. Only stuttering I have noticed is on metro 2033 or far cry 3 which both stutter using just 1 card.
