Haha still can't see it happening. Any actual quotes?
I'm sure he will be snapped up at that price then
Cavani is the most wanted player in his position at the moment, Rooney can't even get into the starting 11 at Utd...
Can't really compare them as I don't know enough about Cavani but £38m and £200-300k per week is not a bargain for Rooney. Maybe 5 years ago when he seemed to care more about his football than his hairline.
Getting close CliffyG:
New Real Madrid head-coach Carlo Ancelotti has given the club’s president Florentino Perez the thumbs up to pursue Tottenham’s Gareth Bale and sell Gonzalo Higuain to Arsenal.
According to Spanish newspaper El Confidential, Real’s primary summer goal is to persuade Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to sell Bale, who bagged 21 league goals last term in an stunning campaign for the north London outfit.
Just to be devil's advocate - but at least Rooney is proven in the Premiership.
Cavani is still a (slight) risk because he hasnt played in England before (without even thinking about the donkey Chelsea bought for £50m transferring between two EPL teams) there are a number of expensive imports which have just flopped over here.
(I dont think Rooney is worth anything like £38m , but Utd have to aim high - and at least this way, anyone who might be interested knows the ballpart Utd are thinking about. I would have thought £20 - 30m would be accepted.)
Rumours have been floating around that Cavani wants a similar wage packet
Marko Marin has gone to Sevilla on a season long loan. I know he was injured at the start of last season but what an absolutely pointless signing by Chelsea.
Rooney is proven in the EPL but his proven record of late does not do him any favours. If he was still as good as he used to be we wouldnt even be having this conversation. He is increasingly sliding down hill.
.
To be fair for the last four or five seasons he has had a steller season followed by a rather average one (just on goals scored) - so next seasion he should be good for 35+
Plus in a new team he may need to prove himself again which should always bring out the best in a player (even if only temporarily lol)
I'm sure he will be snapped up at that price then

Latest from the Thiago saga.
Made by a guy called Olly - Red Cafe.![]()
Thats amazing. Definitely on a par with the suarez, gerrard and dalglish one.
He was bought in April '12 before we won the CL and at that stage we didn't have a hope in hell of signing Hazard & if we didn't he would've got far more game time, injuries permitting of course.
fixed
