Am i looking at the right car for my money.

Comfy
Bit of power (easy cheeky remap)
Reliable
Saloon
Sensible

07/08 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro Special Edition?

Mondeo would be a brilliant choice.

But the Audi would smell better and have a more premium feel.

Is the badge important?

Mondeos aren't saloons. No wonder you are even starting to bore yourself!

Well blow me down . I never knew that the current generation mondeo was available in saloon guise.

I was just being facetious anyway, mondeo would be a great choice.

As was the generation before too. You learn something new everyday ;)

It has begun... :D

Nooo thread has been removed!! I missed how it escalated!

The mk1, mk2, mk3 and mk4 Mondeos have all been available as saloons. :)

It will never end. You have witnessed the inception of a new OCUK tradition.

Badge is important I feel. Want a premium car for not much money :)

8k sounds like 'much money' for a car that first appeared more than 12 years ago, it's a seriously old design now. But it does look quite a lot less crap inside and out than a more modern E90. Just be careful as many of them are terrible spec wise, they did cheapskate things like remove the projector lights on the facelift which makes the front look poor.

Also look at the Seat Exeo. It's exactly the same car only they are newer therefore better value. No Audi badge but do you really care about badge? It's not as if you are buying something new and flashy.

I think it escalated quickly once you came in and posted lol

Spare a thought for the poor old OP, he only wanted car suggestions!

For £8k I would probably be taking a good look at the Octavia VRS. Or £5k on a nice E46 330ci and use some of the left overs to make it drive perfectly.
