The Noctua clears all RAM 100% of the time on Z87, the SB-E X2 should too.

Chrir ordered his rig today and went with the Archon cooler above but I have just had a look and the cooler height is 170mm and the maximum cooler that can fit is a 167mm according to the Bitfenix site. Does anyone know if there is a few mm spare or is the stated figure the most we will have? *risks asking a stupid question*

Does anyone have a 170mm cooler in their Shinobi?

He has gone with the non window version BTW.

You might be lucky but I doubt it. I would have thought 1 or 2 mm at the most to play with, but 3mm is pushing it.
Drop a note in Customer Services and see if you can swap it out, something like the K2 should fit.

Fingers crossed but I have my doubts too. At least we can use the retail cooler for the weekend if worst comes to worst.

We'll post up if it fits for future reference anyway.

For future reference, it didn't fit. Was too tall by 3mm or so.

you could use the windows 8 oem then buy the real thing and upgrade the cpu cooler this build doesnt have a very good cpu cooler but it has a beast graphics card
