Pretty sure my 2500k was fine at up to 4ghz or so with the stock cooler, even on auto voltage.

I know that doesn't really help, but hey...

There are plenty of coolers that will work with your ram, including the K2 if you wanted

It's fine until I want really start stressing the CPU with say PRIME or heavily modded SKYRIM with an ENB.

K2 looks nice, bit pricey though.

Not sure that something humongous wouldn't foul my GPU on this board, there's not much room really.

As the op is running an ivybridge cpu, the comparisons to sandybridge chips are worthless concerning temps. ib runs very hot as standard, (intel shoddy paste job). High end custom watercooling makes no difference on theese cpu's. Only option is to delid them and use decent paste on the core. It does do away with warranty. But it's the situation intel created, they skimped on the product, the customer has to improve it after buying it. Bit like buying a kit car with no brakes lol.

The Phanteks PH-TC14PE also fits into the shinobi ram clearance isn't too big an issue as long as you don't have ram with those massive heatsinks on. Got some patriot black mamba under the front fan.

Corsair's H60 2013 edition gets good reviews, and will have no issues with RAM clearance. Fairly cheap too (£60)

OcUK also have some manufacturer refurbished units in stock, you can pick up an H100 for £40.

Interesting.. Corsair H60 is 6c hotter than NH-D14 in above review.

For £60 you can get a better air cooler.

Those H100 refurbished only have 90 day warranty on cooler only.. no warranty for other possible damage.

However, the high end air coolers will foul the Vengeance RAM, meaning you have to factor in another £50 for a lower profile RAM kit.

Can use a Noctua NH-U14S which clears the RAM for £54.95

Can also remove the heat spreaders from the Vengeance RAM. The heat spreaders might look nice but are not needed.
