Yeah stock clocks, it would appear the voltage is locked, so not sure if it can be unlocked or not?
Does the fan speed actually change or are you just Reading the duty cycle?
If you have spare time, write to kahboom from Overclock.net.
In my signature you will find a thread about modded BIOS which unlocks voltage, disables boost, gives you 50+ power and depending on your ASIC the BIOS picks the right voltage. With modded BIOS and higher clocks you should get smaller temps. Can't wait till I buy Gelid Icy Vision and try it out on my HIS![]()
Could you tell us what temps you get when the Icy vision is on 100%?
I think someone said that my card wasnt compatible with the modded BIOS?
Just set the mobo fan connector to 100% and temps are approx 53c on 100% fan speed.
I was using the Crysis 1 benchmark mod, with all setting maxed out.
The cooler was audible on 100%, but i would not call it loud and would be hard to hear over gaming audio. Im just testing the 1 card atm
If you have any suggestion s on benchmarks to try i can give them a go
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Gelid doesn't support native fan control. As far as I recall the kit comes with a cable to plug the fans in to the GPU but the fans themselves are 3 pin DC fans while GPUs generally are meant for 4 pin PWM fans and don't regulate the 12v DC to slow fans down. It's probably why I've sold a few PWM converters for Gelids.
Ok I'll try them out, have just fitted in my my 2nd card now for crossfire and done the crysis benchmark again, even with the gelid fan set at 100% the temps after 10 loops has jumped to 74c and I haven't even enabled crossfire yet. I know there is not much clearance between the 2 cards now but I wouldn't have thought it would have added this much heat to the card, when before without the 2nd card installed at 100% fan the max temps got to 53c??
these PWM converts that you sell, do they allow me to connect the gelid fans up to the fan pin connector the GPU card itself and control the fan speed, or do you still need to connect it to a sys fan socket on the mobo?
