Hi

I was just after a bit of feedback here really. Last Tuesday I messaged the buyer that an item of mine sold to, I was very happy with what it sold for and everything etc. Now I messaged the buyer with all the info and regarding postage, wether they wanted to collect or if they wanted me to get a price for postage. I had no contact from the buyer what so ever for around 2 days after the sale, nothing. He then said he was forwarding said payment that night once I sent the invoice and that he wanted postage . I then send said invoice and still to this day now, no payment. I've tried sending many a many messages trying to push forward the transaction. but he just continues to ignore  nothing. I have sent the buyer a message this evening stating I no longer wish to go ahead with the transaction and that I am no longer selling said item. I understand we all have a life to live and cant sit on the laptop replying all day, but they're being a joke. I asked them if they would contact me if there was a problem so we both knew where we stood, I've tried being fair in every possible way. It was a collection only item but I said postage could be arranged at the buyers cost. I obtained a postage quote from him etc, I've messaged checking if everything was ok, but still no reply.

Am I in the wrong saying I no longer wish to go ahead with the sale and refuse to sell them it now? My eBay is 100% and 87 stars. theirs was lower.

I hate confrontational episodes like these :(

So do I have to go through a non payment case before I relist the item? :( This makes me mad inside because I feel like this gives him time to pay, and inside me refuses to sell this to him now as hes messed me around so much and not responding. :(

The item ended on the morning of the 25th and I messaged him regarding everything the Tuesday gone (25th yes) Part of me feels like this is slight impatience, but at the same time, if youre an honest eBayer, you know what items youre watching and bidding on and know when to respond to a seller/buyer if needed/contacted. But in all that time they have only replied to me once saying they would send payment weds night, and as I say, Saturday now and still no payment or any messages.

Stick with the ebay dispute process, it's the only way you can be sure. I "sold" a readynas to someone who sniped at the last minute, then wanted to sort his own couriers out, then dropped off the face of the earth.

Opened a dispute, found in my favour, refunded ,my fees and put a mark against the buyers record. Sold it again recently for about a fiver less, the guy came and picked it up, no problem at all.

Id say its more than slight impatience to be honest :o He got in contact on thursday(?) and said he wanted the new updated invoice with postage? So he you gave him one working day before telling him you want to cancel the sell.

Hmm. To be honest it sounds a bit like you changed your mind on the item.

You have not given sufficient time. I dont think you can even open a non payment ticket with ebay after such a short time period. Did your listing have any info added about when contact/deposit/money is expected?

Ok I have done that guys, Thank You. I opened a non payment case, which say can be closed on the 3rd of July or if buyer pays. ( I feel a little frustrated that this gives the buyer a chance to pay) (even tho this is what I want! but I feel as if they have the last laugh, I just wanted to sell the item without hassle and to someone that wants it!) So I guess I just have to wait until then now? or If they contact me?

No he contacted me Wednesday, and said he was forwarding payment that night once I had sent the invoice. I sent the invoice as soon as his message came through, and as I say still no payment to date nor contact! Why would I change my mind about the item?! They were on ebay for a reason! To get rid of and get money. As I say they sold for a price I was more than happy with so what have I got to change about?

I dont know why youd change your mind, but people do. It seemed like that when reading your post because you told him you were no longer selling the item. Not that you were relisting or whatever, but that you were no longer selling it. No worries if thats not correct.

Personally id give him till monday to make contact. I value my 100% rating.

I appreciate that. So would you leave the non payment case open or should I close it? I'm frustrated because they're not making effort to respond to any messages nor the invoice. Sorry if my message came across as me changing my mind about the item, but certainly not. Its a bonus that I got what I got for the item, and a bonus that its more space now they were supposedly going. Should I message the buyer saying that if I receive payment by Monday I will honour the sale?

I'm pretty certain that there's a specific length of time that he has to pay or he will be in violation of eBay rules and as a result there should be no doubt as to who eBay will side with. Trying to end it early or threaten them with cancellation of the sale if they don't pay up sooner than they have to could look very bad indeed.

No, if you can open the non payment case it means the time frame is legit. So just wait it out.

Thanks again guys, especially big rich!

I've left the case open, I sent the buyer a quick message just saying a follow up from the previous message about no longer wishing to complete the transaction due to no communication/payment, that If payment was to be received by the end date of resolution, the item would be posted out next day delivery as I stated.

Hopefully something positive will come out of it all :(

You do seem to keep changing your mind. I would be wary about buying something from you now. Saying that I always pay with 24 hours of winning stuff

It's a pain but it is best to go through the dispute process as already mentioned. I normally give the buyer 1 week to pay up. Failure to comply, then it's open case. Another 1 week, then it's close case and you get your final bid fee reimbursed and the offending user gets a strike against their account. I think it's 3 strikes and you're out. I had to do that recently with a buyer who ignored my sale but was clearly still complying with other sales as I could see his feedback continue to go up.

What a load of nonsense. If I was like that my eBay account wouldn't have 100% ! If I was going to change my mind about an item I had listed on eBay, I wouldnt have listed it in the first place, or failing that I would have put a reserve on! Think you need to re read the thread.

In future I'd put payment within 24 hours if I was you. A lot of people do like to buy and then pay on payday. Personally, I wont buy anything if I don't have the money in my bank, but not everyone is like me.

Still, I'd give them a week to pay before pestering them.

I did buy some bike forks that were the wrong size once on a spur of the moment thing. I asked if he could re-list them but he said it wasn't his problem (rightly so, I should have read it properly) I paid him and then sold them with a £40 profit :D

As I thought, my instincts were right and he didnt contact me nor pay! The loser! It says an un paid item has been marked against his account, is there anyway I can see this? Is there also anyway I can leave feedback to state how bad his comms were and no payment etc? :( I've also blocked this loser from bidding on any future listings of mine.

Cheers.
