My point is that Safari could be a bad derivation of webkit like, Linux for ****** is a bad derivation of Ubunutu.

The core rendering engine is WebKit. That's why Chrome* and Safari render HTML5 (almost) identically. They both use WebKit.

Just like where your Linux analogy falls over. The core Linux Kernel is like WebKit. Aka, the core.

I have the same problem on my Android phone, but it doesn't bother me too much in honesty. It happens on the forums too, sometimes everything goes entirely black, and i have to scroll around to make the site re-appear.

It is very possible that my device is to blame though, it is desperately in need of a factory reset.

OP mine does the same thing on my ipad 3. Works perfectly on my galaxy s3. An issue with ios as it does the same thing with chrome on ipad 3 too.

Recently, I've been looking on OcUK and noticed that the site is a hog.

Browsing on an iPad Mini or iPhone 5 and the site refreshes each time you zoom in or move around whilst zoomed in. Almost like there's a lack of memory. Very frustrating.

I get exactly the same problem as your video shows (iPad gen1)

If you scroll down it tiles the background as some superhero pic, the main screen then overwrites these pictures.

It's been like this for ages, always displaying the background images which then get overwritten (or moved someplace else)

More people either not knowing that all browsers on iOS use WebKit or not reading my posts pointing this out.

An issue with ios as it does the same thing with chrome on ipad 3 too.

Again, all browsers on iOS use WebKit. So the problem isn't iOS it's OCUK's site not working correctly with WebKit. Chrome on Android uses a different rendering engine.

I think the main problem is that OcUK's site attempts to contact Facebook every time you view a product. It's not an issue with my 2009 laptop, but it does slow down a 2003 desktop somewhat. I just use NoScript (Firefox add-on) to block connection attempts to Facebook. No need for it really. Think it's so that people can "like" / "+1" on certain products? I just read OcUK user reviews if I'm interested in a product as that provides more information than the number of thumbs up it gets.
