eBay purchase, should I worry?

I've contacted the seller yet again and I have had no response. I really think I've been had off tbh.

Why would you like the item number?

Just log a paypal dispute if they are new to ebay and paypal then paypal will be holding that money anyway for either 28 days or till you leave positive feedback

3 days. Lol I go weeks without checking my email. Some people have better things to do. And once you paid they have no reason to check it again.

I opened the case today. I use eBay regularly but never had a problem like this. I don't think the seller will respond anytime soon, and I should have listened to my gut feeling. Best to say, lesson learnt.

I dunno... in all fairness, if I buy a high priced item like a GS4 I expect decent service. It's not a trivial amount of money.

I sell quite a lot of phones and I always post next day and send the customer an email saying it's been sent, along with the tracking number.

Sorry but buying a second hand phone worth more then about £50 is stupid sorry.

There are a lot of "lost" phone scams which happen.

They get a new GS4 on contract, insure it, have it a few weeks, sell it on ebay, wait 45 days (after buyer protection) then phone the police/insurance saying that they have lost the phone, phone is barred, they get a new phone and have the cash for the one they sold to you. and you are left with a nice android tablet. With no 3G functionality and it being marked as stolen.

Good Luck.

You sound like an impatient pita tbh!

Bit harsh, I expect the reason the OP is anxious is that he spent a reasonable sum of money and he's getting 0 response to any communication. If it said next day delivery and the sale was concluded on the 25th the least I'd expect was an idea of when it would be sent.

Sometime's I think people post on here for a little moral support from like minded folks, sometime's sadly they don't get it.

No not really Morba.

I find it very strange that someone can be in contact when the auctions ends just until they receive the payment, and then all of a sudden they go quiet. Back tracking on their words by saying I'll send the item when I receive payment confirmation, and then not sending anything. Listing the item as next day, and 1 working day to deliver, and then not doing so just rings alarm bells for me. £££ isn't really small money, so I'm even more wary of the sellers attitude.

Yep, the forum is full of bandwagon jumpers sometimes.

Thanks for that post. I won't be purchasing off eBay when it comes to phones. I've never really looked that much into it, however the phone is brand new/sealed. Lack of photos only showed a sealed box. It's a lesson learnt anyway.

Next day delivery just means the next day after its posted.
If the auction said it would be sent within 1 day then that is something different but you've only just mentioned this rather than in the OP or any other post.

Someone asked for the auction number but you refused, allowing more experienced people to see the whole auction would give them a better idea of what you've let yourself in for.

Reflux - band wagon? What are you on about?

Why do we get these ebay threads? Paypal protection means that you can send as much as you like to someone with zero feedback and not care whatsoever. You cannot lose. The whole point in the eBay/PayPal system is that buyers can buy with zero risk regardless of vendor.

I can't believe people are criticising the OP, I think he has every right to be concerned.

I can only hope I never end up buying anything from you guys on eBay, it doesn't take two seconds to update someone who's parted with their hard earned cash - or to click the "item is despatched" icon.

It's the kind and courteous thing to do - any eBay member worth their weight will also keep good communication throughout the transaction in order to maintain positive feedback.

so what some people have lives and dont live on their computer all day.

the timescales are within the rules of paypal and ebay so relax. if you have a problem after those timescales then there is a process for you to get your money back.

I wasn't aware you had to sit at a computer all day to send an email that will take all of 1 minute.

Everyone knows there are 1,000s of instances where people have been scammed on eBay and even by members who have somehow managed to rack up hundreds of false positive feedback scores. The best way of making sure your buyer is assured that you're not one of these unsavoury people is to keep them in the loop.

jeez 1 in 1000 sellers are slackers or have higher priorities.

I truly hope you get the phone or fully refunded. But as you said this is the gamble of buying high ticket desirable items that can have been stolen or fraudulent in some way.

Lesson learned

It may even turn up tomorrow?
