Swimming for Great Ormond Street

Hope people don't mind me posting this....... :confused:

On Sunday 30th June along with over work colleagues i shall be swimming 1 Kilometre to help raise over 1 Million Pounds for Great Ormond Street Hospital

If anyone would like to donate no matter how big or small it would be greatly appreciated to help continue the great work Great Ormond Street do.

1KM? that's a lol worthy distance. 40 Lengths in a 25m pool or 20 in a 50m pool...

Make it 10Km or 20Km i may give you a pound

I used to be a patient there for a long time....great staff that do their very best for the kids there and will never forget my time there.Donated and nice of you to do such a thing.

Great cause, unremarkable challenge. I get ten of these just giving requests every week at work. I can't give to all of them, so I pick out the ones that move me / impress me the most.

and what exactly are you doing to help charity?

To be fair, 1k for somebody who is not a regular swimmer could be reasonable personal challenge. Heck I swim 12k+ a week and I wouldn't want to run the equivalent.

Completed the event this afternoon as part of a 4 man team as the event turned into a team relay.

Our team of 4 from the birmingham and the black country were the overall winners.

Was good to meet some of the great ormond street kids who came along, really makes it all worthwhile.

British Gas's charity for 2013 is Great Ormond Street

There were swimming events all over the country to raise over 1 million for great ormond street :cool:

As for the distance it was a relay race which makes it a different kettle of fish.

I can run 1500m easily but could i run it at full pace in a race? hell no
