PSU - Stick with Corsair or XFX worth a shot?

Think i'm settled on either of these two

XFX 850W XXX Edition / 5 yr Warranty - £101.99
Corsair HX850 / 7 yr Warranty - £129

Decisions decisions ...

aren't the XFX and COrsair 850 PSU's both rebadged seasonics anyhow, so the internals would be the same ?

not quite - although seasonic build the psu's, Corsair do the internal design

Im thinking about getting a new PSU (Birthday soon woo!) and I have had this exact same debate... Now its down between corsair and XFX and deciding on wattage ..650 or 750w?
Personally I want to have the ability to SLI in the future but currently dont.

Ah. I know they are solid units but personally I wouldn't take the chance should anything go wrong. I value Corsiars ease of returns (again,personally) and they have always done the job for me. If I was to change however I would buy seasonic direct without a second thought but I only got my 1200i a few month ago.

I wouldn't be comfortable using SLI with a 650w psu. Only if you're keeping things stock. It's better to give your psu more headroom to breathe. Go with 750 minimum.

Not quite, the re-badger normally picks an existing seasonic platform and specifies certain components/modifications.

Well, bit of an update ... Wish I'd have stuck with Corsair ... I got the XFX 850W XXX Edition in the end and within a week the so called "fixed" clicking noise made an appearance, slowly followed by a very loud fan and eventually a slight grinding noise ... Needless to say I raised an RMA back to OCUK who tested it and confirmed it was buggered and refunded me. In the meantime I managed to pick up a Corsair HX750 brand new RMA replacement from the MM for £75 which was an absolute bargain.

I guess it was karma biting me in the ass for trying another brand other than Corsair - lesson learnt!

From personal experience i'd go with Corsair. I have had 2 XFX PSU go on me while Corsair seem to be higher quality.

I currently have an XFX for 3 years which *touch wood* has been ok, but if I was to replace it, wouldn't be XFX again.

Exactly why I will not touch them either.

Corsair or spend a little more and get Seasonic.

I'm using a Be Quiet, cant fault it, but generally think it's best to go with the brand you trust providing you can afford to.
