AMD HD9970 (Hawaii XT) Rumours

I thought about it myself. PC Gaming is not cheap:)

Kill the heretic ! He mentioned the word console ! (or actually implied it :D ).

After a lot of badgering I bought my kids an Eggbox recently, and tbh for ease of picking up and playing half an hour mindless shooting or driving its not too bad. Damn, kill me now . . .

IF (and its a big IF) I have the cash later this year a pair of these or the NVidia equivalent might be on the shopping list. The 6 series can't handle bf3 in eyefinity at the setting's id like :(

i've 3 6950s at 6970 bios settings. water cooled. now it works ok, be nicer if i could get abit more performance out of it. but the heat the rig throws out is enough to heat the flat in winter. "toasty" eye-infinity is awesome. ati have been busy cos the xbox and sp4 have amd/ati graphics took a lot of there resources hence the HD8 series beening rebranded 7 series cards

be nice if the HD9 series will raise the bar

Bring me the HD9990 goodness.

8 gigs of ram? Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Wonder if they've ever been tempted to try a 3 gpu card, its difficult enough making a 2 gpu card, 3 would be insane (in size, power requirements, and cooling needed). I think there was a third party company that did that once with 2 lower end gpu's, can't recall what it was though.

ed: was this mad thing
