Looking for the best graphics card for my custom built pc with an i7 and 16gb ram. Anybody know what is best for my PC for constant gaming? Really want the most graphics power for my budget of £100

The answer here depends on a couple of things, how soon you are wanting to buy (the offers change on Wednesday) and whether you will be overclocking?

before Wednesday the fastest card in your price bracket is the HIS7790, the Inno3d 650TI boost iChill card is a bit faster, but it isn't on offer this week making the 7790 a better buy if bought before the Wednesday offers change.

benches here. 7790 vrs 650ti boost.

after Wednesday (obviously depending on what the new offers are) the KFA2 650TI is slightly faster then the 7770.

benches here 7770 vrs 650ti

If you are going to be overclocking then the 650TI boost is the fastest but obviously £20 over budget, out of the 7770 and the 650ti then it would seem that the 650ti is still faster.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Inno3D GeForce GTX 650TI iChill Herculez 2000S 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £119.99
1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 650Ti EX OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.95
1 x HIS HD 7790 TURBO 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £99.95 £15 off till wednesday
1 x Gigabyte HD 7770 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £89.99 £10 off till wednesday
Total : £409.87 (includes shipping : FREE).

I would say a second hand GTX570/580 is going to be your best bet.

A fair bit quicker than the 650Ti. Although quite power hungry as a result generate a fair bit of heat when compared to the later offerings.

Your priorities don't seem right here mate..

a lot of the gaming performance of the PC comes from the GPU, so to spend £270 on a CPU and £100+ on RAM and only £100 on a GPU is absurd.

All you really need for a gaming system is an i5 (4670k), 8Gb of Fast RAM (its the speed that makes the difference not the amount) and a good £220-£250 GPU, (7950,760 ECT..)..

what do you think?

Agreed with Doom.

Was gonna say the exact same thing.

The Inno3D GeForce GTX 650TI iChill Herculez is a boost model and cheaper than the one you have linked too. hence why I linked to it earlier.

I wouldn't go for a 1gig card,

Personally I think the bare minimum for playing modern games is like a 2 gig 650ti boost or a 2gb 7850 obviously they both come in over budget though.

I would have to agree with Doomedspeed and Marine that the options of i7,16GB and only a £100 GPU do seem a bit mismatched, but of course if you ask what is the best card for £100 it is no good answering it with stuff costing 33% more.

Regardless of how much you can manage to sell the game codes for you still need the full price to be able to purchase the card in the first place.

Unless im missing something why spend all that money on an i7 and only get a £100 GPU? i7 would be overkill for most people let alone for gaming! my i5 2500k never gets pushed that hard and that can be had for £140ish now??

Id seriously recommend getting an i5 and putting another £100-150 into a GPU.
