Channel 4 to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer every morning during the holy month of Ramadan

But that isn't being 'fair',
Christians, (or rather people just saying they are Christian) are not beheading randoms for the greater glory of God, and while such things are a crime in this country they are ignored in Muslim countries, it being culturally acceptable to say take a young boy in Afghanistan.

But they do bugger little kids behind closed doors.

I don't think any religion has a place on TV in any form tbh. I mean, it's a magical box brought to life with witchcraft and pixie dust, which hardly sits well with the idea of a god

One doesn't excuse the other, does it...

And let's face it, the (minority) of abusive priests have to hide what they're doing for fear of being imprisoned, etc.

In these Muslim countries, they behead, stone, flog and murder people in the streets, whilst the crowds chant "God is great". It's something that hasn't happened in this country for centuries.

And God help you if you're a girl.

As an anti-theist I find all religion absurd... it make no sense. It make even less sense when people get killed and children get violated over it.

The 'morning' call to prayer is at about 3am! Do people watch channel 4 at that time anyway let alone crying over a 3 minute call to prayer! same length as an ad break.

I think it's more to do with giving certain men free access and a cover than anything linked to religion. Although a number of Protestants were also connected with kid abuse, I reckon the pressure of abstinence didn't help the Catholic situation.
This still doesn't remove the fact that child abuse isn't tolerated in this country, yet it is in some Muslim countries, perhaps more so in rural areas.

As is the abuse of women and girls and anything else they don't fancy that week. It must be like living with an alcoholic Father over there, never knowing who is for the chop next.

Of course, they all magically become normal human beings as soon as they step off the plane at Heathrow.

What's the difference between being an anti-theist and an atheist?

The first wants to preach and tell everyone else how wrong they are. You people are just as bad as evangelicals.

The only thing I preach is education and free thought. Based on my limited education and logical thought I will happily tell any religious people how wrong they are, if they want to listen. I'm not one to force reason and logic into anyone. If a person wants to live in a deluded/psychotic state of mind, that is their choice. As long as it does not hurt others.

channel 4 you lil **** stirrers you :p

tbh its early and you arent paying for it etc. besides cant be any worse than deal or no deal!

There used to be some great stuff on at that time years ago. Vids and bits were awesome .

Not bothered about the morning prayer thing. Just think it's utterly pointless and just been done to be controversial. Still, I'd rather it was on TV and I can choose to not watch it than if it was played on the loud speaker like it is in some places.

you can likely put some of it down to sexual repression - strict no sex before marriage (or no sex at all in the case of catholic priests)... people are still going to have urges - as far as Afghan's and Catholic priests are concerned its taken out on little boys... as far as a few groups of like minded young men from places such as Bradford are concerned its young white girls... and as far as a few chogies on a British military base in Iraq were concerned - it was apparently giving each other hand jobs behind some shipping containers

You say you preach education and free thought, yet you are trying to impose (the wrong word, but I can't think of another right now) a singular worldview on people who may, for whatever reason, have come to a different conclusion about their worldview than you.

How do you actually know they are deluded and psychotic (do you actually understand the terms themselves?)..you may think they are wrong, you may have come to a different conclusion than they have, yet that is subjective...you both may be wrong, they may be right, you may be right.....however if you are truly preaching education and free thought, you would be encouraging others to determine for themselves their own truths, not telling them they are wrong in whatever conclusions they may already have determined for themselves.

For serious?

DO I really need to explain the difference between 'stuff that's make believe' and logical deduction?
