I seem to not be able to overclock over 4ghz:confused: here are my settings.

CPU Ratio sett to manual "40"
Internal PLL overvoltage set "Enable"
Intel Speedstep set to "Enable"
Turbo power boost limit set to "Manual" Within this i have set.....
Short duration power limit to "150"
Long duration power limit to "150"

Core current limit to "150"
Host clock override limit left at 100Mhz
Spread spectrum "Disabled"
Power saving mode "Disabled"
CPU core voltage set to OFFSETT and offsett voltage set to +0.020V
CPU loadline calibration set to "Level 5"

I have also set CPU voltage to fixed at 1.20v,1.25v and 1.29v but this does not allow me to go over 4ghz?
So any advice would be great thanks

Try changing the short duration power limit to 250 and long duration power limit to 200.
Also switch the cpu voltage to auto, when you get into windows see what cpuz reports the cpu voltage as, go back into BIOS and try lower it from that reading.

Hi TeKgun I have put core voltage on auto and no load it it 0.952V and when it jumps to 4ghz core voltage is 1.280 (max i have seen so far)

Hope this helps and thanks for your input ;)

I presume that speed step is working, and when there is no load the cpu is running at 1600Mhz with 0.925v is that right?
So I would increase the CPU Ratio to 43 leaving the Cpu voltage on auto just for now. Then save and see if you can boot into windows, put some load on and see if the new clock speed is working in cpuz and take a note of the voltage again.

Yes that is right Speed step is on and 1600Mhz with 0.925V,

I will do what you say tomorrow night and report back.

Should i turn off Speed step? and also should i increase the SHORT and LONG POWER DURATION to 200 & 250? as i have not done this yet.
Thanks.

I would leave speedstep on, you can try leaving the long and short power durations as they are and just see if it boots into windows with the CPU set to 43 and auto voltage. If it will not boot then raise the power durations.
I suggest the auto voltage on just to see what voltage is reported once you are in windows. That will then give you a reference to try and lower it from.

Hello me again ;)
OK this morning i set 2500k to 4.3Ghz Core Voltage on AUTO and Long/Short Duration kept at 150 + Core Limit at 150.
This booted into windows all fine (which did surprise me) OK so Core voltage under load reads between 1.264v to 1.280v

Hope this helps.

I just got 4.8ghz

I couldn't overclock till I changed the LLC by default its at Level 5 I needed to change this to Level 2.

So I now run
4.8
LLC 2
Offset +55

Does level 5 do more or less compared to level 2? thanks

No matter what Voltage i set my PC would BSOD till I increased the LLC to Level 1. But I still had random BSOD, So I then changed the Voltage from Fixed to Offset +55 this for 4.8ghz for 4.0ghz maybe try +20? offset then put the LLC at level2

I cant seem to go above 43, I have tried what you said Shankley1985 but will not boot up and thats at 44ghz?

I have disabled Internal PLL Overvoltage as suggested in the link pob9 posted

So how do i get to 4.5-4.6ghz?

Have you tried using the Overclock profiles? for 4.6ghz it dont set the voltage that high. See if it boots then you can try manually setup later on.

Nope Bios re set and loaded optimised CPU OC setting to 4.6 and It won't boot up?

Do I have to set the Core Current Limit to say 250 from 150?
