So, I'm officially off to Barbados to see my old man who moved out there a while back!

Looking forward to seeing the old goat, and go on some dives with him and some golf rounds!

But, anyone else been when young? How is it? I don't want to be leeching around him the entire time I'm there and wouldn't mind a day or 2 on my own.
 
I went to Barbados earlier this year. You'll have no problem as a 25 year old. There's plenty of young tourists in Barbados. If you want beaches and diving then the west coast is where you want to be. All of the beaches are public so you can just stroll along the coast, taking in the hotel bars as you go.

I don't think driving is much of a problem. There's a few crazy drivers but I've seen much worse elsewhere.
 
Get yourself on the Mount Gay Rum distillery tour, with buffet at the end. Dessert was rum cake, rum and raisin ice-cream, and a rum miniature!

west coast....

depends on time of year, but friday and saturday night go to second street in Holetown. first street has a club called priva on it.

Harbour Lights is a good club. $50bds to get in a free drinks all night.

dont go to oistins, i think its crap.

the roads are ok there, but there is NO drink drive law....
 
Well, again, not sure where on the island he is. And sadly I'm only there for a week. I imagine I will do a night out alone.

Apparently September is when places start closing down... I arrive at the start of September.
 
Travelling all that way and only spending 1 week, talk to that father of yours and demand that he extends the trip to two weeks :)

you can find clubs anywhere, you don't need to go there to 'club'.
