For those that say BBC is unbiased

The BBC & news should represent facts, not public opinion.

The public are idiots (I put forward the OP as evidence to this assertion).

Then it should completely shut down the "Have your Say" and "comments" section in some news items, which suspiciously always has an extremely heavy left wing biased, sometimes it seems like you're reading the Socialist Worker website

A deep liberal bias doesn't allow you to do that though. Immigration is a complicated issue, if it wasn't we'd all agree on it and it'd be a non-issue. It's a shame that the supposingly better educated influcial parts of our society treat these issues like school debates, unable to admit that sometimes the otherside has a point.

For the record, I'm all for open borders, but with out current political climate I don't think it's something that's sustainable with at least major policy changes, something that the same liberal supporters would cry foul over. Don't get me wrong, the right are worse. They poke holes in the lefts arguments only because they want to be stupidly rich and if they had their way they'd create an everyman for themselves mad max type future.

Subjective, I've read comments on the BBC have your say sections which sound like sections from Mein Kampf.

Some facts do tend to have a slight left bias, I'll give you that - but we can't help that now can we?.

:D

But we have no deep liberal bias media outlets.

Every single news agency in the UK is pro capitalism, pro western democracy, almost all pro-royal family.

"Deep left bias" as you word it, is actually centrist - real "left wing" was removed from the popular media landscape some time ago.

Now-day's if you don't hate brown people, immigrants & people on benefits you are labelled as extreme left. (slight exaggeration, but you get my point) - we don't have a left wing political party in the UK who get's any meaningful amount of votes.

Look at the best rated then worst rated, then the biased becomes very clear. I think staff members score up and down comments they like or dislike

It seems to me they are doing a excellent job in reporting, even the OP's article stated as much "breadth and comprehensive" are the words it uses.

They open the door to a story and if you don't like how's reported then you can follow it up on Fox, Mail, Sky or Telegrapgh

Are you sure it isn't that all the right wingers are too busy foaming at the mouth at Daily Mail articles to spend time on the BBC?.

The BBC should be re-named 'UK Govt. Broadcasting' for the amount of propaganda they spew. They should also get fully funded through their sponsors: Apple Corp. and Facebook Corp. the amount of free advertising they do for them.

Why do I always get the feeling that if the BBC had a perceived right wing bias, people like the OP wouldn't be complaining?

I don't think you know what left-wing actually is, hint labour is actually a far right party, you have to go a long way left to be a left wing party!

If the BBC are lefty biased, the the generally accepted notion of what a lefty is has moved rightwards considerably in the last 25 years!

@robgmun - have you read the socialist worker website recently ? Hope not, as a truely principled lefty is boycotting the SWP since the 'Comrade Delta' incident !
