It's only to new subscribers, so anyone already renting games won't be affected. Sure they may remove games entirely at some point but they're not just magically going to get rid of the thousands they have overnight, may as well keep it running for existing customers.

i played through all the games i wanted and just in time to take a rest from gaming until new games pile up in the winter. i cancelled lovefilm so don't know who my next rental service is gonna be. at first i was with boomerang then lovefilm and now i don't want to go back to boomerang as they are a bit expensive.
Just don't expect to see gta5 or any new releases on there

I'm on a pay as you go type sub, I get 6 discs for 14.99 over 3 months. Currently on disc 2 and 3 so I've got til then to get to the last two discs.

This got me thinking abit. Do you think the Sony/Microsoft consoles will have a streaming/rental service coming up and lovefilm pulling out before it goes tosh?

I'm a little miffed about it as I'm just receiving my first game from them maybe...tomorrow. But I don't see it as the end of my sub, I quite like it and still have plenty movies in my list to come. I've only got one other game in my list now I think, so I'll just wait for that and then lower my sub.

Why? So then you need half a dozen subscriptions to different services just to be able to watch everything?
Finally got an email from Lovefilm about the removal of the game rental service.
Weirdly they havent said anything about returning the games I currently have out.
So assume I can just keep the games until I finally decide to return them?

Yup - got an email from my bank yesterday confirming that as of 8th August, games will be removed from my account.
Tempted to email them and see what they're doing with their ex-rental stock - see if I can get some cheapos =P

I didn't even know they did Game rentals lmao! I've been subcribed for freekin ages and had no idea 
Good thing I watch a ton of films and the GF streams loads of tv.
