120Hz or 2560 X 1440 gaming

well im not up on the dells. you should decide if you want a glossy or matte screen though. i prefer glossy as i think it makes the thing look better and colours brighter. but im sure a dell person will be here soon!

and good choice! ;)

Well I have had some time with my new panel and have to say i think its amazing though out of the box was lets just say disappointing.
I only really use my rig for gaming and that is BF3,COD and BF2, Once i calibrated the monitor to the best of my ability from the monitor and in AMD CCC i think i have got it quite good.
Gaming on 120-144Hz is really amazing I think i spend more time looking around :) and sometimes in a wired way looks more 3D, I can run around with aim site up and everything tracks so smoothly :)

I know it does not look like a 1440 picture but i'm very happy for me its the right tool for the job.

Definitely consider the vp2770-led too. Came top of my list after a lot of careful research. It has faster response, less lag and the colours are superb out of the box.

ok iam confused on tft central they have listed that the hp has imput lag as 3.6 avg and 4 maximum and class1 whilst the viewsonic is 26.2 avg and 29 max and class 2. so my question is which would be better for gaming

after an afternoon of caining works internet on deciding which monitor to buy i have bit the bullet and decided on the dell u2713hm and the customer service from OCUK,

Is the dell that much better then say the DGM 27" 1440p or the Hazro HZ27WB 27" 1440p? I do like the DGM 27", but it has so many issues and it's the same price this week as the Dell ?

I'm confused myself?

i have to say i did consider both of those but like you said the build quality pushed me towards the dell

I have the DGM and bought it on offer - if they're the same price I'd buy the Dell but be aware that there seem to be some quality issues which might mean returning it if you're unhappy.

The only real issue imo with the DGM is the rubbish stand. The picture quality is excellent.

No idea how tft central are doing their tests, but the viewsonic has the best response times and input lag of all the 1440p screens. I certainly don't notice any lag on mine when gaming.

Good luck with the Dell, you will need it with their current QC issues. Good monitor for the price if you get lucky though.

Both as the higher res is great ofr multitasking in windows and allows for better FOV in games = more pixels = more viewing area

The vast majority of modern games have a FOV that is tied to the aspect ratio rather than resolution.

At any rate, the U2713HM can be a very pleasant monitor for gaming (and of course the desktop), but do be persistent if you aren't happy with the first one you receive Briggboy.

@BRIGGBOY81 can you drop an update when you've tested out your u2713hm for a bit please? I am in want of one of these at the minute too but with all the backlight issues etc I've been scared to order one. I am usually one who lucks out unfortunately!
