Iranian people in 2013!

Yjust because they're heavily branded as terrorists and anti west doesn't actually mean you have to believe that is true. Its like saying England is full of football hooligans and edl members buts its not is it. Its got some normal everyday people as well......

Heavily branded as terrorists and anti west, having nukes to blow up the peaceful world.

Doesn't look that way in the slightest to me.

That's because those people there are the citizens of Iran. They are the people and the author of that didn't go everywhere in that country and didn't meet some of the more interesting ethnic groups which may have not been so hospitable.

When the Western governments challenge and the press castigate Iran they quite clearly target the institutions of power eg the guard and the government - not the people. It is not different to the way the West is portrayed in Iran.

Most people can differentiate between the actions of citizens of a country and the actions of the leadership the country. The Western press quite clearly time and time again mention the wishes and demands of the Iranian people and represent their views to the same degree that other presses don't rail against British citizens but the actions of the government.

Nice photos though I miss it but still prefer it here. A balance for me would be Austria - I get the skiing/climbing and the freedom that way.

Iran is nothing like it is portrayed by certain political elements in the West, equally The West is nothing like it is portrayed by certain political elements in Iran.

You knew exactly what he meant and if you didn't your obviously not living in the real world.

What is living in the real world? Believing everything you see on tv regarding the media's portrayal of different nations?

By that logic if I watch America's greatest police chases etc I should hold the opinion of if I see an African American there's a good chance they will point a gun at me and rob me?

Well a selection of that society is just that. I wouldn't expect "normal" people to look any different to the way they look in those pictures. Did you expect them took any different?

It's the theocratic cleric controlled government that are the problem. I read a Vanity Fair article by Christopher Hitchens who visited the country on more than one occasion. It was clear from reading it that the ordinary people he encountered in Iran on his travels were actually pro western in their views. Remarkably, many of them were heavily influenced by American pop culture.

I didn't expect anything different, but the war mongers of OCUK might learn something.

What exactly? That ordinary people are ordinary people? Do you think that everyone that has issues with Iran thinks all of the people in Iran are swivel eyed loons craving the destruction of the west? I can dislike the Iranian government and it's policies without feeling the same way about the people in the country.

And that section is newsworthy and has context. Neo-Nazis in Germany is newsworthy and has context. Hooliganism in England is newsworthy and has context. Racism and white supremacy in the USA is newsworthy and has context. I doubt people really believe those fringe groups though are prevalent or representative of their societies.

Nothing we didn't know already, that normal people are normal, terrorists all wear rucksacks with wires hanging out the back and the quasi religious leadership of Iran is still bat**** insane.
I think the people of Iran recognise this too, being that most normal people don't want to threaten the west with nuclear weapons.
