Hi

I'm interested in getting myself a new laptop soon and want something that would be ideal for my study's and also gaming.

I like the look of the ocuk gamer w370st , I'm just not sure what I should select for the hardrive options?

I take it a ssd is best for the primary hdd and maybe a bigger hdd for the secondary hdd?

Out of the drop down options for both 1st and secondary drive options what should I choose , sorry I have been away from pc hardware for ages so not sure what is good.

Many thanks

I would suggest the Sandisk Pulse 256gb for the 1st drive and the Samsung 1TB spin point for the second drive.

Regards

C.

Or if you are upto it, fit two 1TB HDD's and fit your own mSATA 256gb SSD using the mSATA as the OS drive.

C.

thanks , if I select windows 8 os would ocuk install this on the ssd?

I take it that the SSD is best to just run the os and maybe put ms office and a few other programs that I use a lot and then everything else on the secondary hdd.

Yes if you select an os well install it along with all the drivers. :)

Gibbo what happened to the price of the Ocuk gamer w370st? Just around 2-3 weeks ago it was just around £850...which was around similar price and spec (i7 4700MQ and with a 120GB/128GB SSD) to the competitors' custom laptop based on the same 17.3" base unit...now the price rocketed up by over £100 with the spec remaining the same.

Don't get me wrong...I love OcUK, but the price of some of the custom laptops are just quite poor value comparing to what other places has to offer (lower price, faster SSD model i.e. Samsung 840 Pro instead of the standard 840). I'm not telling people to look elsewhere to buy a custom laptop, I'm just hoping that OcUK can keep the price competitive, so more people would continue to value OcUK's service, rather than buying a custom laptop from OcUK and then only to find out little bit later that the price is so much higher than it should be, and become so regret with the purchase and turn away from OcUK for good. Think you guys could look into the pricing of your custom laptops range again?

The price on the OcUK Gamer W350STQ with the with the optional of Samsung 840, 8GB ram and i7 4700MQ on this week offer for £850 is actually quite well priced, the Ocuk Gamer W370ST with the same spec but just being 17.3" instead of 15.6" for £1070 in comparison is ridiculously priced, considering it is £220 on top...
