Not really, before the Islamic revolution in the late 70's it was the most westernised country in the middle-east. It used to be common that girls wore mini-skirts etc!

There was this Iranian girl at uni and for the leaving do she wore what was best described as a Jessica rabbit dress! And she looked good too!

Some lovely looking pictures and some very nice looking ladies too.

My missus went to Iran a few yrs ago before we met and she absolutely loved it, said the people there are so hospitable and nothing is ever too much. She made a very good friend out there and stayed with her and her family...still keeps in touch with her via email.

She wants to go again but this time with me, im looking forward to going myself soon.
 
Still looking for the picture I saw of modern Iran with Western dress and a head scarves and the other side saying 'meanwhile in Luton', full head covering and radical preachers
 
Ordinary people in 'being ordinary' SHOCKER!

I have a friend from Iran over here and she's one of the nicest people I've ever met. Really upsets her the way people look at her when they discover she's Iranian. :(
