Everything off apart from abs for me. 2.22.938 is my fastest for today will have another try tomorrow I can either be quicker through the first half and mess up on the second or the other way round need to get my consistency sorted out.

The game is rather interesting but saying that I haven't touched GT5 in many months. Though the AI is a breeze by with everything off.

Tried it earlier, have to say I was actually a bit disappointed. Been quite a few years since I've played a GT game (GT5 is the first full GT game I haven't owned) but it just doesn't feel like the series has evolved since the PS2 days. The sense of speed still isn't there, the vehicle sounds have no punch to them, racer AI just felt generic and there just wasn't a feeling of there being a 'connect' between the controller and the car. Perhaps that's something that's improved by using a wheel though.

Cars looked great (but a Nissan Leaf, really?!), tracks looked a bit bland though. Also noticed a bit of judder in the framerate, only really noticeable when looking at scenery but it's still disconcerting.

Had a blast on this last night.

It's still boring and the AI still pootle around in a procession without making any mistakes.

It saddens me that I won't be playing Forza 5 for a good while yet as I don't want to buy an Xbox One.

I felt the force feedback was light but I think I have it set rather heavily in GT5, so this will appear light. Using a G25. Apart from that the game feels great. Thinking back with my first play on this last night, it honestly feels no different to GT5 since I had GT5 set to simulation. Only thing that felt a bit different was the suspension lean. It really tilts in this game. The suspension is really lush.

Silverstone isn't exactly spectacular in real life but the new pit building in the game looks absolutely gorgeous!

Which parts were you getting judder?

Captain Obvious saves the day.

Feel free to imagine that I put 'IMO' at the end of my post if it makes you feel any better.

Whatever that means, I meant that I found a lot of what you said disagreeable. no sensation of speed??? You seriously cannot be playing the same game, I have no idea what you expect.

And it was poor in GT5?

I don't recall anyone making complaints about it in gt5

It could just be this specific car... all the other cars I remember in GT5 had rigid suspension. Or we all quickly put on race suspension rather than getting used to regular road car suspension.

Though neither of the cars in GT5 had so much lean compared to GT6. Even the really slow cars.

The car I do remember that had really twitchy suspension with quick steering input was the Ford GT.

Some corners really throw the suspension flow or the shift in weight balance quite violently. I loved that. You could feel the rear becoming so light that once you put a bit of power on it either wheel spins or you end up oversteering and doing a Massa. Becketts was the worst for this but it was lovely. Felt like you were doing the equivalent of high-siders.
It always felt like saying to yourself, I've went too slow here then you come back around again you go too fast. Rinse and repeat both ways and you keep thinking you could have still went a bit faster.

I've really been enjoying the suspension dynamics in this game.

Wish I had a ButtKicker to experience this better. Or something like this.

Various corners, watching the red/white barriers I could see they weren't moving across the screen smoothly. Was odd because there wasn't any noticeable dip in framerate.

I seriously was, I assure you. I expect 100MPH in a 370Z to look and feel like 100MPH, but it didn't. I'm not expecting NFS-style blur or anything over-the-top, I fully understand GT is trying to be a simulation but there was just no sense that I was actually moving at the speeds the speedo was showing. A lot of that is probably down to there being relatively little feedback to the controller compared to a wheel. GT4 was totally transformed when I got the Logitech wheel.

Play something like Grid 2 which looks and feels fast, conrers come at you from no where if yor not fully concentrating, GT in comparison feels like it takes an age to get to a corner, yes it looks great, but its about speed.

Interesting. Will check again tonight as I can't say I noticed anything abnormal.

Gran Turismo doesn't have brick walls right on the corners... all their tracks have huge run off areas.
