Anyone having issues with MMS? I am on Foxhound 0.8 and when I receive an MMS it just says downloading but doesn't actually load. I have disable auto retrieve and then I get a download button. Press this and it says downloading, the the button reappears again with no MMS displayed.

I had this for a while after returning from a holiday and phoned Vodafone who told me it was something to do with my settings, they sent the network settings again and it's been fine since. Possibly something to do with that?

Double checked my settings and they seem correct. I received some MMS messages before I updated to 0.8 so it may be that.

When it comes to phones I really cannot be bothered with custom ROMs, I just want my phone to function and function well and when the manufacturer releases an update I expect to get it; and not have to wait weeks or months just because I'm not on a specific network.

Isn't that why most of us run custom ROM's though? They usually run a little better and we get updates much earlier. Seems odd you give those as the reasons you don't go custom?

Been an S4 user for just over a day now and so far I'm loving it - having come from a Blackberry 9900 though that's probably no surprise! (that said, I always liked my BB and was a little sad to see it go)

I've had various niggles with the S4 which I've managed to resolve (I'm kinda picky when it comes to phone setup) but I've not managed to persuade the battery icon to change colour as yet. I was under the impression it would go orange, then red the lower the battery got?

Stays green all the way Chris, as far as I can remember.

Mine is a circle battery now (custom rom):

Oh well, sure I read somewhere it changed colour. Not the most troubling of issues though so I'm sure I can live with it.

Your homescreen looks cool, is it tough to get it working like that?

I guessing this is your first Android phone?

Then yes root and roms might seems a bit daunting to you.

If this is your first Android then I'd recommend you use the S4 as it is for the moment and just get to know it more as it's pretty good in stock form.

When you get bored you can try Nova Launcher Prime which give you a load more options to customise your desktop and app drawer. Change this like grid size (to 4x6 icons) and icon size, change app icons and edit names, change animations and shortcut gestures. Allsorts.

Even though my desktop looks empty, there a load of invisible things there like app folders and shortcuts.

Example on my S3:

SGS III LTE

Everything apart from the status bar mods can be done without root+roms.

Here are a few of the gestures on mine:
