At least you've learnt how to quote without having horribly clunky self formatting, but how about including a sources?

moses. instead of being ever the critic. why not actually post something newsworthy, instead of just lurking and then jumping on other peoples stories.

oh and london evening standard ftr.

We need a striker who won't miss 90% of his shots. If we get Higuain we achieve that and also for once send out the message we will pay decent money and wages, which will hopefully be the catalyst to getting at least 1 more big name in.

Walcott is on 100k a week, Diaby is on 60k.... I think the cats out the bag, we pay absurd wages. It was 143mil the previous season, I wouldn't be surprised if we spent noticeably over 150mil wages last season. Arsenal have always had high wages, we just spend FAR more on the youngsters/backup than most clubs and less on the top guys.

Coquelin has gone out on loan now. Surely that means we are looking to bring someone in as a DM of some sort now?

yay, an actually promising player who needs games, who showed vastly more talent and potential than Ramsey, Diaby, Rosicky, filled in at fullback a few times and looked capable.... so obviously got almost no real chances. Another player we'll loan out for a couple years and let walk on a free. Sell Diaby/Rosicky/Frimpong and actually give him games. I can't stand this, give players a real chance, they aren't good enough.... so we keep them for years on absurdly high wages given their quality/availability due to injury. Genuinely promising players get ignored for these other guys we already know aren't good enough and eventually leave.

Really want to see Eisfeld given a chance but will probably see him in preseason then nothing all year. Again a case of FAR worse players being given the few chances youths got and our most promising youngster given nothing.

I thought Walcott was on 90-95k? We may pay decent wages for average players but we don't pay good money for top players. Breaking the 100k barrier like this opens up a whole world of different players.

Coquelin looked ok when he played but I never thought he did enough to cement a spot in the side although when Ramsey gets a game you could argue that anyone should be able to. A top notch established DM is exactly what we need after securing a good striker.

Yeah shock of the day, all strikers sometimes miss, unbelievable.

So what is going to happen at the press conference? Moyes to walk out with Thiago on one side and Ronaldo on the other wearing a pair of shades? :p

Do you think there's any possibility Manyoo aren't really in for him? I mean, people often say Arsenal are the kings of claiming there's a warchest, etc, etc, then ending up buying some unknown African kid from the fifth tier of French football... but is there any chance Manyoo are suggesting in public they're after a relatively big target, when in reality they're just not and it's to pacify the fans?

We haven't said anything to fuel the journalists fire, it's all coming from them and its just been rumbling on in the press day by day. There isn't anything concrete from either side, even if Thiago wants to leave, just the usual things of the father selling his resteraunt and things making the muppets go mad.

The only suggestions are coming from the press and who knows who is getting them going, it's quite possibly a case of 'he needs more minutes' + 'Manchester United need a midfielder' = 'Manchester United are buying him'.

As was seemingly the case with the going to Bayern to link up with Pep rumours.

Did anyone see that Besiktas and Galatasary want Buttner? Could be our most pointless signing in a while if he goes!

Maybe it's changed or maybe I was just misreading but I got the impression the prevailing opinion of Buttner was the he was ok but not quite good enough to be anything more than backup for Man Utd. If that's the case then provided you don't make much of a loss on him then I wouldn't have thought it's really a positive or a negative to move him on.

I think that is exactly the feeling from most United fans. He is 23 I think and has shown little to suggest he is up to scratch. He looks worse than Evra defensively and when we bought him, I think the quote was something along the lines of "he is about the 5th best left back in the league" and he didn't come from a top class league.

Do clubs publish players wages or something? I keep reading so and so is on this, xyz is on that... how do these people know?

Shame Darren Bent is having to leave us - he single handedly at times fired us to safety after he jointed, but obviously not going to fit into PL's plans, and could do with him off the books (£60kpw not £100pw), along with Given, Ireland and to an extent N'Zogbia.

On the plus side, we're in July and Benteke is still ours!.......
