As you can see my current setup is in my SIG

My issue is that I feel i aint getting the best out of my system, when i play BF3 ultra settings i get around 80-105FPS,

Even in Arma2 my FPS is poor.

On Arma 3 I know it's only in BETA but i'm getting around 30fps. on high settings.

Could it be my CPU bottle necking my GFX? or do i just have a pants setup ?

Any info and help would be grateful :)

Yes. In bf3 at least your cpu will be holding your cards back.

I recently changed from xfire 7970s + i5 3570k with 40% gpu usage in bf to a i7 3770k @ the same clocks and went 80-100% usage on the cards. the cpu went from 100% usage (bottleneck) to 60-80% usage and no bottleneck :)

Check Afterburners card usage graph and have a look see if your macing your cards out.

Is there an overclock on your CPU?

Stock clocks and SLI are far from the best combo.

Your unlikely to see any increase by going to an i7 as the vast majority of applications do not support >4 core threading. Games especially.

I don't believe that. Even when severely CPU limited (low graphics res) there's only a few FPS difference between the 3570 and 3770. Hyperthreading doesn't make that much difference. Here's a good article http://www.anandtech.com/show/6934/choosing-a-gaming-cpu-single-multigpu-at-1440p

The advice to monitor CPU and GPU usage is good though. If the CPU is being thrashed it probably is the limit. Also if it's not overclocked it should be!

Read for yourself.

Huge improvements in the BF3 multiplayer with CPUs supporting HT. Crysis 3 is the same if not more of a jump.

All these people that believe that the non-HT class are fine for gaming need to realise this is no longer the case. Take it on the chin guys, you are behind the curve on what is needed for modern games.

For the sake of £80? as well...such as shame.

4 cores plus HT, or 6 cores is now a no brainer in the Intel camp. Learn. And stop telling everyone it is fine. It simply is NOT, stop making everyone else suffer your misguided spend.
