Overclocking my 2500K ( one of the original ones from release day ) to 4Ghz on my Z77N Wifi board. The board dosent allow me to manually set volts and under load its giving the CPU 1.3511v. Is this safe?

Prviously had the chip @ 4Ghz in a P67 bard where I manually set the vols, but im sure it wasn't this high :)

Oh god yes, that's absolutely fine. :)

I'm currently running at 4.7GHz with just under 1.38v. The maximum recommended voltage is 1.425v.

Most I have pumped through was 1.51v for a quick SuperPi stint at 5.4GHz :p (but that would not be safe to use regularly)

Should be able to add another ~500MHz with a small bump in voltage too. TBH these are old enough to warrant near suicidal 24/7 voltages if temps are kept in check, IMO :D

I think we are of differing opinion. I only just re-built my 2500K machine and don't intend on moving past socket 1155 for years. :p

Mine just runs at stock at 4.3ghz. But I do think that's using some kinda boost voltage because it never seems to move from 1.325v. I never actually touched volts. Just multiplier to 43.

That voltage is high for a 4Ghz overclock but I'd be more concerned about the temps in your Prodigy case.
