Parents asking about girlfriends

Does everyone elses parents do this? (dont think it matters what age you are)

Its annoying and my mum seems to get upset when I dont say anything. I haven't had a girlfriend for years, not that its any of their business.

Would it be OK for me to call and say "I had a awesome one night stand"

You are basically questioning why a parent is concerned about their sons health and well-being. Think about it.

All the time, She doesn't seem to understand I'm just not interested at the moment in the type of girls that are around me.

Once you get a girlfriend it will then be when are you getting married. Once you get married it will be when are you having children. The questions just keep coming.

I used to have an old Aunt who at every family wedding would embarrass me by shouting in front of everyone 'You're next!'. I got my own back at a family funeral she attended by shouting loudly at her in front of everyone 'You're next!'.

Maybe a problem and a bit embarrassing if you are 12, but I don't see the issue as an adult? Just laugh it off and join match.com perhaps?

Not had anything but I've had a girlfriend since High School except for a few months here and there, so that question doesn't come up. Not sure it come up if I didn't, though.

Oh yes, my Mother wasn't too impressed when I, semi-jokingly, mentioned the law of averages coupled with the amount of times I'd dipped the wick meant that she probably already was a granny.

Suppose you're right. Even when i have had girlfriends i always got asked "hows it going with xyz" to which i replied "fine"

Maybe i should ask about how its going with dad?
