Hey guys,

Are there any of you guys in the Manchester or Salford area who I could use your Mobo Or CPU to test if its my CPU or Mobo that is faulty before replacing the one or the other.

It would need to be 1155 (Ivy bridge I'm on)

I would be forever grateful and there will be a pint in it for you! :D

Thanks

Craig

Whats actually happening mate?
They system is basically switching on (no booting) and after maybe 5 seconds turns itself off and back on again.

I am running barebones, On board graphics, Tried new ram, ram slots - However I have delidded my CPU and fear that maybe the issue. On a side note I did bend one pin, but managed to bend it back to what LOOKS like its original position (non broken)

So I have reason to belive one of either MAYBE faulty if not both.

It could be that your Motherboard hasn't been updated to the latest BIOS and it can't identify the ivybridge CPU because the BIOS you're using was for sandybridge

To update my BIOS, what I did was use a £30 celeron processor with the motherboard to get it to POST then I updated the BIOS. I could then use my ivybridge processor

Seems you did`nt read the other thread. :)

i7 3770K (delidded)
32GB ram (currently 16GB installed for testing)
MSI Z77-G45A gaming Mobo
HX620W Corsair PSU

Thanks again guys, I have been running for a few weeks without issues.

The system has been running fine until this, I have spoken to the store it was bought from and they said they will repair the pins for free and send it off for a warrenty test and also test my CPU for free,
