Arsenal fans are quite bitter these days aren't they? It's not as if any of the other major sides in the PL have been signing players left right and centre. At least they are being linked with some decent players.

Has there been any official confirmation on the bid for Suarez?

Other than the telegraph reporting it, i havent seen it elsewhere but im sure the other rags will pick up on it at some point and give their own little headlines lol.

Im now actually starting to think...have we really got the £70mill to spend this summer??. Because as of yet we havent spent a penny of it on any transfer, Sanogo was done on a free so that didnt bite into this so called £70mill warchest we have at our disposal.

up on BBC website now

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23222924

What I don't understand is that Arsenal apparently did not want to pay £25 Million for Higuain but then bid for Suarez who realistically is going to easily cost £30+ Million. It seems as though Arsenal just want to show that they are bidding for big name players to appease the fans and do not really want to buy them.

I don't think the initial cost would be the problem, but whether or not they fit into Arsenal's wage policy which has a longer term liability to the clubs finances. I'm not sure what their cap is or what budget they have. Either way, I just can't see Suarez fitting in at Arsenal nor getting along with Wenger. I just can't see it.

Meanwhile.. Quietly confident that David Villa will be in Lilly whites by the end of the week - Happy days. Not surprising to hear Levy attempting to "drive the price down" haha:)

LOL we arent bitter, just a bit fed up of this constant merry go round with Higuain...will he wont he etc etc. And for your info, other PL teams are making signings ie Spurs with Paulinho and now Villa, City with Navas and Negredo iirc, Chelsea with a few signings ie Van Ginkel and Schurrle i think. Then theres Utd who look to be getting Thiago.

They may not be world class, £40+mill players but the fact is they ARE making signings whereas Arsenal like to talk about signing such and such a player but in reality we are nowhere close to signing them.

The Arsenal bid for Suarez is very, very, very strange. It seems to be 'real' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23222924

Arsenal are potentially a good step up from Liverpool but why would they even bid for a player who is, well... Suarez, and his main reason for leaving Liverpool seems to be his dislike of the English press - which is just retarded in itself as he brought everything on himself and can't blame them.

He's an idiot and there's no way Arsenal would seriously want to buy him, so you have to suspect Real Madrid may have something to do with it, perhaps.

I still think they'll get Higuain, the only other club interested (it seems) have got Tevez now, so unless he stays he's probably Arsenal bound.

I just read that article on the BBC and it is pure speculation. Nothing quoted by the player, agent or either clubs. Its just the papers creating something out of nothing as there isn't anything else to write about.

next week the team goes on their Asia tour so I think if we don't sign anyone by the end of the week, it'll look like another doom and gloom transfer window. Unless of course, Wenger will leave Gazidas with a list of players that he wants and leave him to sort out the transfers. which again will mean a doom and gloom summer :(

Very worrying we could potentially lose Suarez to Arsenal :(

I think the chances of that happening are very slim or next to none, id be very surprised if Suarez comes to Arsenal. Like Robbo said earlier, he doesnt like the english media so if thats the case then why would he come to Arsenal. Not only that i dont think Suarez would be a good fit for Arsenal even though hes a tremendous player but his antics would probably send Wenger into a cardiac arrest:p.

Personally i see Suarez leaving for another country/league perhaps Real. I did read somewhere the other day that Liverpool have given Suarez till July 19th iirc to make up his mind on whether he wants to stay or leave as Liverpool will need to find someone to replace him.

I have thought that for a long time with Arsenal, they bid for big name/cost players but do not bid enough knowing their offers will be refused, they can then say to fans "look we have made £35m bids" to make it look like they were prepared to spend big

He doesn't strike me as the kind of player that gives a **** about the press tbh. I wouldn't mind him at Arsenal at all but I think this story is based soley on lazy journalism

Wee bit of sarcasm.

Don't believe for one minute hes leaving because of the english media, hes full of ****.

Given his liable and unpredictable temperament, I would have thought Liverpool would have snapped at the chance.. 30m is serious cash.

Seriously though. How many games is he missing start of next term? How many more is he likely to miss further?

Actually i disagree with that, i cant recollect us ever being in for big players either in name or costs. Just seems like this season because of this supposed £70mill we have that we are being linked with the likes of Rooney, Suarez and Higuain. Last year as far as i know we werent linked with any big names, could be wrong as i remember we signed Podolski and Giroud at best. Or maybe we have been linked but i didnt see anything regarding us making any bids, serious or not for those players.

I'm glad you aren't involved in running LFC then.

He misses what 8 games a year? Yeah I think I'll take him carrying most of the other 30 thanks.

Fully agree with this, it's not like he picks up red cards and misses game that way. I don't care that he bites or whatever, it what he does in the games he is there that matters to me.

Thought it was 8 games he was to miss??.

He got a 10 game ban, missed 4 last season.
