I have thought that for a long time with Arsenal, they bid for big name/cost players but do not bid enough knowing their offers will be refused, they can then say to fans "look we have made £35m bids" to make it look like they were prepared to spend big

Course they do, its the same with their fabled war chest, every season at ST renewal time we hear about how much money they have to spend. Arsenal are all about the profits, they don't give a monkies about trophies or titles, aslong as they quailfy for the CL every year that's all that matters to the board, I can't think of a more souless, depressing club tbh.

He got a 10 game ban, missed 4 last season.

Hadn't he receive a former 10 match ban for another incident? I'm not criticising his ability but can Liverpool really afford another incident from him? Because if he hasn't learn't, next time could be a lot worse and detrimental to Liverpools progress.

LOL just LOL:p

Whats even more funnier is a Liverpool fan talking trash about Arsenal...hilarious stuff :p

Could say many things about Liverpool myself but i wont as i dont see the point of getting into a club war debate on here.

Why? I'm not talking trash I just don't see what's to get excited about being an Arsenal fan, you're not going to win the title, you're not going to win the cup competitions (as you don't take them seriously), you're not going to be in a reglation battle, where are the highs & lows that football support is based on?

Think he has essentially got a substantial ban every season for the past 3, but as I agreed with Purdy, its what he does when he plays for us that matters.

I'm slowly coming round to the idea that we could sell him and re-invest the cash to the betterment of the team. I'm more confident of potential transfers in (we won't see any repeat of the 100 million transfer windows of 'waste'), and as much as he is a phenomenal player, he isnt a team player - there is a stat roaming around that in our loss to Arsenal last season, Luis and Garrard lost the ball nearly 60 times between them, which is why we don't see the Swansea style of play with BR that we were sold on.

Seems like Chelsea are after John Ruddy of Norwich, Norwich have refused an improved offer from Chelsea though according to SSN now.

Kone has signed for Everton on a 3 yr deal.

What are Everton fans expecting exactly ?

For 5ish mil Kone is a solid signing, he's better then Jelavic.

Don't really know what happened to Jelavic, he had such a promising start but has now dropped off dramatically. Kone scored 11 goals last season in the PL, not bad playing for a relegated side, he is a decent striker who I imagine will get a few goals next year.

Well why anyone considers him any good as opposed to hype.

He never really did anything at Wigan of note (at least as far as I can remember) 5mill isn't a lot these days but even then I'm not sure what he has achieved to be worth even that.

I think he'll be a good squad player for them, and I think he is worth what has been paid in comparison with other players moving this year (which is the only really relevant comparison you can make in football transfers).

Its not a very inspiring signing, but nonetheless I think he'll do OK.
