Wow, not sure how I forgot this! Sorted my accommodation and everything else out and just somehow thought I had done it. :o

What happens now? Will I still get finance?

Yes... don't sweat it... Just call up and apply to them. I did the same as you and got into a little tiz. It is no big deal and they will sort it out no problem

Happened to me (forgot to get the form scanned), got my loan about a month late. Landlord was fine about it luckily :)

Yea you will still get it, it will just be late. Half the time it is late anyway so no-one will even have to know you missed the deadline!

I rang up the day I was leaving to go back in second year, filled in the paper form and posted it when i was on my way and I got my money on time with no problems.

Crap - gotta reapply. Well they already have most of my details. Just got to do the last part of the online form and sign the declaration. Hopefully wont be delayed too much. I do have an overdraft to rely on if need be.

I thought it was only me who did stuff like this, I turned up for the second year not realising that you had to apply for it every year :o

Yeah they are constantly doing new applications, they just advise you do it earlier so it gets sorted quickly and any loose ends can be sorted before you start your course.

The SLC seem to be a bunch of crooks.

My wife has had 1 payment left of £160 for about 3 years. And has regularly phoned up/written to them asking to pay this final payment. They finally got in touch on the 27th of June to say they were going to take payment from her next salary, so she phoned them the next day to pay off the final amount which she did, and they said they would issue a "stop notice" on the account.

Fast forward 5 days (yes less than a weeks notice), they took a percentage from her salary which was significantly larger than the £160,

I don't know why you have to apply every year. A degree is usually 3 years so why not have that right from the start? One application that does your whole degree then reapply for the final year if your on a masters.

that hardly makes them crooks, although they have done far worse.

Because quite a lot of students drop out after 1 or 2 years. Some of those who do may continue to receive Student Loan payments that they're not entitled to, it would be a lot of hassle to get this money back.
