Like many fans of the Stalker series, I am looking forward very much indeed to this. If anyone hasn't played the previous games, or for whatever reason was put off by certain aspects of them, then I'd recommend giving Stalker another chance by playing this when it arrives on the scene. :)

For those that want to give sweetfx a try (I don't know if this will conflict with the official patch, though I don't think it will) :

Never really got into Stalker much but I did enjoy the first Misery for a bit before I gave up due to bad framerate at random times.

Looking forward to this :)

Yes, Misery 1.0 was a very polished mod, but it also suffered from poor frame rates in certain areas. I don't know if that was due to running a less capable cpu than I have now.

3570k + 7950 couldn't do it.

X-Ray Engine is pretty pap, it's like a semi-decent looking woman who's a total airhead but has a great personality. :D

Back to the Zone then. Played pretty much every noteworthy Stalker mod except this, was gonna try it but busy and lately figured I'd wait for 2.0. Seems great, and still got Lost Alpha, Lurk 1.2.....may the Zone take me!

Been too long since I've played STALKER. SoC is still the best, but it looks dated now so I think that's why I eventually got bored.

Only played through CoP twice I think, so looking forward to this mod to see how well my rig copes.

You'll be fine with a card like that. :)

Excellent, I just hope they've rebalanced some of the missions as some of them with Misery1.0 were a little too unforgiving. Can't wait for another playthrough, some of my best memories with Stalker have been with the Misery mod.

Been waiting a long time for this, not long to go now. The storms in the Atmosfear mod (used in Misery) are epic :)

So many features added to the stock game, I hope it's as good as it looks.

This looks interesting. It might provide the opportunity I have been waiting for to get into the series.

Just noticed this featured on Rock Paper Shotgun.

Apparently it's out 31st July.

Never played STALKER with mods - so I'm intrigued by this. Will the difficulty be a challenge, or just expose a ridiculous and frustrating level of AI?

If the first version is anything to go by, then yes, it will be very challenging. ;) If you want to get a general idea of the first release (1.0), then check out these videos of this youtuber :

I'd wait until version 2.0 is released, then play (that way you get the full experience of 2.0). In the meantime, you could always try a modded SOC or CS. If you need any help, I'll be glad to assist in anyway I can. :)

Can't wait for this, loved all the Stalker games - CoP was really good just could have done with more content so this will be perfect for a return visit :D

So is anyone going to be hardcore enough to play the game on the 'Black Road' difficulty level? You start off with just a knife, and nothing else.

I've never tried, though I would have thought there is a mod to diable the bob. Perhaps contact one of the Misery modding team. They're helpful and friendly. :)

You can disable it with a little command or cheat in the original stalker so it should be doable here :)
