hello i currently have 1 his iceq 7950 boost overclocked and wondered if its worth getting a second 7950 (if so will getting a different make matter or should i stick with the same one?)
or should i sell the 7950 and replace it with a single card? (suggestions on card would help here)

thanks

So xfire it is cheers. But do I get the same card or a cooler one for the top slot?
IMO it might be better to get a blower type cooler card for the top card, and have a fan in front to feed cool air directly to it (i.e. case with mount for fan front of cards, or using Antec Spotcool if the case don't have mount).

BTW, what CPU are you using?

The 7950 I have now is a blower type it's his iceq boost.
I have a 3570k.
Also I do have a side case fan directly over the card currently

I'd go for another Ice Q. Mine run pretty nicely in crossfire, temps stay decent, tho that also depends on the spacing and the case cooling of course.

Perfect cards for crossfire tho because they're dumping the heat out of the back of the case.

For Crossfire, I would recommend getting another HIS IceQ. As for your side-panel case fan as intake, if the position is behind/left of the intake fan of the IceQ cooler's fan intake, then it wouldn't be very effective considering the case's airflow direction (from right to left to top). It would worth considering getting one of these Antec Spot Cool fan and place it right of the IceQ cooler's fan intake to feed it cool air directly:
