Hi guys.

My GTX 690 runs hot when i game for a while...typically it goes above 80c on both gpus and sometime touches 90. usually in BF3 mutiplayer and crysis

I have a corsair graphite 600t case with one 200mm fan pulling air from the front and one 200mm fan sucking hot air out the roof.

how do i reduce my temperatures and keep them low? 80 and above is too high for me.

Right now i underclock the card and open my side window to lower temps, but i dont want to do that everytime i game.

Any help?

erm. that is a bit spicy, but it depends on the temperature in the room. its warm at the moment.

just make sure no dust is in the heatsinks

Is there a space on the case for a rear fan? Fill that space up and that should make a fair difference.

Have you tried turning the GPU fan up and using a custom profile.

@flinco There already is a fan for the corsair h80 cpu cooler on the back of the case..I dont think there is anymore room.

@Kaapstad Yes i do turn the fans up to about 80% which helps cool the card (usually 70-75c) but then it gets noisy.

@James 2k yes it is abit hot, maybe that is making a difference. how do i check for dust...do i have to disassemble the card?

Also i wanted to know if i underclock the card, is it safe?

The 690 dumps a lot of hot air into the case causing temps to rise. When I had mine I swapped one of the 140mm fans at the front of my case to blow out instead of in.

This helped quite a bit with temps as the air blown out of the front of the 690 was extracted out the case rather than circulated through it.

Might be worth a look and see if you can do something like this.

:)

This is natural fact but sometimes due to the room temperature or you can say that room temperature also effect on the whole performance of computer. On the other hand make your system dust free, there is option in bios settings for active your fan forever, add extra fan inside the CPU (cooling pad if using laptop) and the most important to check your voltages for this purpose.
