Noticed there has been a lot of speculation on the bay in terms of Graphics Cards and rightly so it is indeed risky but can pay off.

However This popped up listed as a "Quadtro 6000" so got lost in the listings due to the wrong name. Arrived today with fedex and has never been opened other than the seller checking it works. For the same cost as a new GTX 770 this might have been crazy but was worth it.

High risk paid off?

For those wondering it works flawlessly.

(noticed there have been a few threads on the subject of the bay, but if this is seen as breaking the rules by all means remove the thread. Sort of a grey area if you aren't posting links/exact prices afaik)

Well done sir, that's an impressive buy..

What power connectors has it got, all i can see is a single 6pin..

The Nvidia website says it takes a single 8-pin or dual 6-pins..

Resell value must be a nice profit, do you do desktop editing? Or were you intending to use it for gaming? (Not sure how well these handle games.)

Very risky, but looks like it's paid off. Well played.

lol those are meant to be about £3000. Well done, is it actually a 6000 or does it seem to be something else?

Nope it is indeed the 6000 (came in a DELL box), the box it came in showed it was bought by "the forest SARL" from Taran microsystems on doing some research its a dell reseller. Not sure why "the forest" bought it though unless as stock.

And Your right Tonester there is a 6 pin on top and one on the back.

In terms of use I work with 3DS max and Adobe in both Uni and for freelance projects, which I am finding the 3D side of things over taking the graphics work. So it will be put to good use rather than running crysis or farcry on it.

Nice find, shame for the seller but hey dont make mistakes listing.

No risk at all as if you it didn't work/wasnt a quadro you could simply get the money back from paypal.

There's a load of unfinished auctions at £3k, £2k and £900, at risk of sounding like the party pooper these must be a real pig to shift. Unless everyone strikes deals, which is entirely possible given the ridiculous fees eBay would skim off something like that.

Was this from a UK seller out of interest? *dreams of 500% return on investment*

They would be ok to shift if you knew who to talk too, I know people in various game studios who would love one of those cards with a hefty discount

Sure was ended last Friday and was delivered from stoke today via fedex. Nice quick turn around.

*On a side note, what is the exact function of the metal bracket on the back? My guess was cable management for the 6 pins in a sever case but can't find anything on Nvidia's site about it.

OEMs normally stick a mounting block with slots in it at the front of the case, that bracket slots into it to stop the card dropping.

Thanks, since its just going in a regular tower will end up removing that as it just extra weight added to the card since there will be no custom mounting block in the case.
