Bees! (Nesting in the roof)

Wait till they leave then block up the entrance. I bet in a day or two they will be gone, they are not that sociable with people so once they know they have been spotted they leave on their own accord.

I use to live in one of these eco homes and we were plagued by them every year. Once we disturbed them (often accidently) they would have a quick swarm and leave.

Shut the windows and tap on the ceiling lol

I would ask you to allow them to stay as Bees are now becoming so rare and endangered that any colony surviving with our help is a big help to them in general.

If we lose bees in general we are in a whole load of trouble, so many of our plants need them in the wild and and commercially.

If you do I salute you Sir!

Took 45 posts for someone to post that :D, OcUK is getting slack!

Consider me saltued, I don't mind them :)

We suffer from wasp and bee issues and have had the local environmental team out to sort it legal and I think for minimal cost (wife sorts it). I would not advise you leave them to nest, get rid or else they can do some serious damage.

I remember my father emailing me a picture of a post in the garden which was several inches thick with bee's that suddenly appeared and clung to it. Cant find it now but may ask him to resend it.

He googles and found a local bee keeper, Rang him up, he came down with a box, smoked the bees, scooped them into the box with a hand shovel from the post, closed it except for a hole then waited for the stragglers to get into the box for 15 mins while he had a coffee with my father.

Seems they had clumped around a traveling queen to protect her and the guy that came estimated he had bagged a queen and a prob 2-5 thousand bees. No charge and a happy beekeeper lol
